The list is topped Saito Asuka, the first-generation member and former center of Nogizaka46. Momoiro Clover Z is the highest-ranking group; every member also made the top 10 of the list. Third and fourth place go to the leaders of Nogizaka46 and Momoiro Clover Z respectively, and fifth place goes to veteran idol Kashiwagi Yuki of AKB48. Nogizaka46 and Hinatazaka46 fill in the last positions of the top 10. The remaining top 20 includes multiple idols from Nogizaka and Hinatazaka, idol groups AKB48, Sakurazaka and BiSH, and NMB48's rising star Shibuya Nagisa.

Notes:

* Shibuya Nagisa was said to be more popular among people in her 20s and above as they watch more TV. She ranked #6 for all ages
* AKB48 entered the top 20 after missing out last year
* Yukirin had the highest increase in interest, followed by Momoiro Clover Z and Hinatazaka46
* BiSH had a high relative increase and was said to be particularly popular among 10 - 14-year-olds
* Foreign groups and graduated idols are not included in this ranking
The ranking is based on partial data of Nikkei's annual Entertainment Power rankings for next year

is always nice to see BiSH in these "top artists" lists, seems that even in their last year they haven't peaked yet

also the fact that YK released 8 singles with WACK probably helped both of them

BiSH had the second highest relative increase in points since the latest ranking, only behind Momusu. I don't know if it's among idol groups or all idols, but it is impressive for a group with a long history and the collaboration surely helped. The disbandment announcement and other activities gave them more attention as well.

I don't know what you've seen and I don't know if I want to :imstupid: but it doesn't surprise me that Wack and Alt-idols are popular among young people. The interest was even much higher among girls than boys that age.

The list as a whole is not too surprising and follows what we usually see from the Nikkei Ent Power Rankings but it is interesting to see the break down among a younger demographic. The way kids these days consume media is completely different to just a decade ago so the difference in what artists are popular can change wildly between ages with the increasingly fragmentized manner in which media is consumed. Teens won't watch much TV and many adults do not use tiktok and other social media.

is just that a lot of the stuff WACK does these days can be explained when you realize is in part aimed at teenagers, like when the sequel of a "R" movie is now rated PG13+, i don't know if that makes sense

basically WACK used to be pretty hardcore some years ago but they have mellowed a little lately, i guess they don't want to scare the general public with the crazy stunts or extreme pranks from the "good old days"

that's nice, last year in a LINE survey women 10 - 20 was BiSH weaker demographic, it was the only group that wasn't very familiar with them

FChKaHJXsAYMe9Z?format=png&name=900x900

FChKa1kXMAYlGS5?format=png&name=900x900

in general BiSH have a pretty balanced fan base, like 60% male / 40% female or something like that

and if anything i'm surprised "Perfume" didn't make it to the list, them along MCZ are always top 3 in these kind of list, they even had a comeback not much ago

I think Perfume (and Niziu) aren't in the list because they're not counted as idols. Milan (@seinedoru on twitter) who usually compiles the girl group lists includes them but they are often not considered idols.
