LOONA Chuu has established her own agency where she is the CEO and her mother is the in-house director

I just realized: other articles mentioned her company is called Chuu Co but there is already a popular fashion brand in Korea called Chuu.

I know the fashion brand Chuu is owned by a larger company, but since that brand/company is already called Chuu can she also name her company Chuu?

*EDIT*

The fashion brand Chuu also existed before Loona, is this why Blockberry copyrighted “Loona’s Chuu” but not “Chuu” by itself? Because this brand probably already copyrighted the word “Chuu”?

not 100% sure how it works in korean law, but in my country and overall europe you can trademark words for certain industries/categories. so, when you fill in a trademark request, you specify the sort of industry that you want in protected in. let's say, if you fill in a request to protect chuu in clothing, it could still be used for other goods, like food or even an entertainment company, as long as the identity of the companies is not mistaken by the public. obviously this doesn't apply to internationally and extremely well-known brands (you can't name your brands adidas/nike/samsung/etc for any sort of goods) but i would say chuu should be okay.

it's probably the same in korea since intellectual property laws tend to be similar across countries. also, i remember yg trademarking “manobal” for certain goods only in preparation for lisa's solo (since she had clothes with manobal written on them)

Oh hey it's the every few months story about how Chuu is leaving her agency, or has left, or has moved.... except every time there are no actual sources or proof. I'll believe one of these when she actually leaves.

good for her for getting out, but i never trust these kinds of business ventures with parents. it seems smarter to sign with an established agency.

I support Loona (really happy to see them get success and earn too) but I can't wait for the day when Chu's money stays with Chu and not that shady agency. I hope her agency is super successful.
