[Appreciation post] Taemin's best five solo performances

well, according to me   a little something to celebrate Taemin's 21st birthday~

 

in no particular order:

 

1-"Be Good To You": His solo at London Odeon; it was the moment that made shawols go "huh." Sure, Taemin's improvement was clear for a while (to fans who watch him closely), but it's hard to realize THE SCALE of his improvement with just his parts in SHINee songs, parts the he sung many many times already. I think this is the performance that finally sent the message to a lot of fans; that "wow. when did this happen?"

 

 

2-"Get Up": an important step for us to get present day Taemin (along with Internet War), it was a great shock to a lot of people in the fandom but it was necessary (even if drove away the more weak-hearted fans) because it allowed Taemin to shed the image he was stuck with since he was 14 and he finally shattered the expectations that many fans bounded his growth with

 

 

3-"The First Poem": this was his solo for SHINee's 5th Anniversary Special Party. His singing in this one is especially lovely and you get a glimpse of the type of music Taemin likes. 

 

 

4-"Cry for me": His solo for SM's "The Wizard" concert; the song he composed and wrote with his brother. It's the first composition he shared with us, and that alone warrants it a place on this list  but is delivery, his passion;  everything about this was beautiful. Taemin isn't the best wnen it comes to emoting, so when he manages to put this much emotion into his singing, you know how connected he feels to this song

 

 

 

5-"Ecstatic Confession": It wouldn't be right to not include a performance from immortal song, considering that's when people outside the fandom started acknowledging how much Taemin improved. I couldn't choose a favorite so I decided to go with his last before leaving the show. It's kind of symbolic; the real first step.  Not only is this the performance he got the most wins for, but it was also the one he was most praised for by the other contestants. They were so proud of him; the difference in his confidence and presence is glaringly obvious when you compare it to his first immortal song performance.
