What do you define as a ''first love''?

I've always been confused about this term since I've had an ungodly amount of crushes but I don't think I'd ever consider my first crush my first love. Is it your first partner that's your first love? But what if that was like a middle-school relationship? Or is it the first person you actually love, whatever that means?

I think it's the first person you actually love and who loves you back can be considered your first love

I would prefer to say it’s someone you truly loved without wanting or waiting for anything back, someone you were just happy to see and see them happy, I think first love is that unrequited first love we couldn’t live it’s different than a crush still

I don't think your first crush or your first relationship is first love just because it was first. Imo first love is someone you truly consider special, someone you truly loved and whose existance made you happy, regardless of was it requited or not. Probably first time you thought "God so this is what to love means", someone who filled your world and whom even sincerely saying "I love you" didn't seem enough to describe your feelings. Probably that person you thought of seeing title of this thread.

For me first love is when I was too young and naive and in love. And if I think again now I am not really liking it haha. I like the last love than the first love. Lol
