Said it very well. This is getting sad now and whether or not the companies are behind it, they need to stop this.

If this is a hacker violating their privacy, you have two of the biggest stars from from two of the biggest - RICHEST - entertainment companies in Korea and those respective companies seem to be doing nothing. We have seen these companies be chaebol-like in their power to make things go away before, but not here apparently.

And if it is not a hacker, and it is the company's leaking these things to take attention away from something else bigger and more damaging to them (which is an old entertainment trick - just look up the old Hollywood Confidential magazine or even Dispatch's modern-day modus operandi) then its shameful and the talents deserve better than the people who represent them.

im not someone who likes to believe in conspiracy theories... but ive been around long enough to see companies do far worse, for less. i do think that it might be true that HYBE and YG are deliberately leaking these photos or at the very least, standing by and not taking action so they can milk this dating "scandal" for as long as possible... because tbh, the reaction to their dating news hasnt been bad, and its just brought more attention and publicity to both groups, so both companies benefit. YG himself has actually been in and out of court recently for various things, and BTS is in a lot of hot water right now surrounding their enlistment... so any news that can distract people away from those things is a good thing... its a tactic that's been used forever in politics, so i wouldnt be surprised if corporations in the entertainment industry do this too lol. at the end of the day, they see news and media as a tool to either a) make money or b) improve their image...

Not so much on HYBE or Taehyung's part but I can 100% believe that YG and maybe even Jennie herself do shit to stir up controversy and generate buzz. I mean if you count G-Dragon this is her third dating "scandal", most idols her age just have one, if any. And each with a member from EXO, Big Bang and now BTS?! Literally the three boy groups who've dominated K-Pop in the last 20 years.

It's insane how everyone is like "protect female idols" until it comes to BlackPink especially if it comes to Jennie for some reason. Then it specifically is okay to slut-shame her, to blame her for dating as if dating is wrong, to blame her for getting hacked and having her privacy violated. This isn't just towards you, but the insane and disgusting comments I have seen on pannchoa and twitter. Kai got caught dating Jennie as well as Krystal. IU has been in more than one dating scandal as well. So has Suzy. And just because Jennie has dated people from groups considered to be at the top, it has to be her trying to generate buzz? Jennie already has enough buzz as it is. It just is so frustrating to see similar comments from another inetz and Knetz especially when I know for a fact that had it been another girl group member people would have been like "yaaaaas queen".

Um, I actually can believe that some of the stuff Suzy took part in back then was for publicity as well. It's just that it's Jennie again, it's a BTS member AND having petty "controversies" and "scandals" are almost part of Blackpink's image at this point. And it's not really a female thing, I believe Big Bang liked to stir the pot too, Jay Park is STILL occasionally stirring the pot to this day and if BTS had more ridiculous "scandals" comparable to Blackpink, I'd be side eyeing Taehyung too.

I think this is a very good example of how we're so much more protective, defensive and sometimes infantilizing toward K-Pop idols than celebrities in Western entertainment and Hollywood. Kanye West, J-Lo and even legendary icons like Madonna also have more than enough buzz and they do far worse shit for clout and attention all the time, even in their hey days. Not to mention fake couples have been a thing in Hollywood for generations.

But the very idea of our precious idols (the same idols who love to draw inspiration from Western artists) engaging in these same media tactics is just absolutely disrespectful and unfathomable. Give me a break.
