I been saying this. I honestly feel like this whole situation is deliberate on some level. Not so much on HYBE or Taehyung's part but I can 100% believe that YG and maybe even Jennie herself do shit to stir up controversy and generate buzz. I mean if you count G-Dragon this is her third dating "scandal", most idols her age just have one, if any. And each with a member from EXO, Big Bang and now BTS?! Literally the three boy groups who've dominated K-Pop in the last 20 years.

I'm sorry, clown me, neg me, etc. But it has been confirmed time and time again that many Western celebs do all sorts of shit for publicity from Nicki Minaj to Taylor Swift to Camilla Cabello. Is it really hard to believe that K-Pop idols and companies do that shit too?

Um, I actually can believe that some of the stuff Suzy took part in back then was for publicity as well. It's just that it's Jennie again, it's a BTS member AND having petty "controversies" and "scandals" are almost part of Blackpink's image at this point. And it's not really a female thing, I believe Big Bang liked to stir the pot too, Jay Park is STILL occasionally stirring the pot to this day and if BTS had more ridiculous "scandals" comparable to Blackpink, I'd be side eyeing Taehyung too.

I think this is a very good example of how we're so much more protective, defensive and sometimes infantilizing toward K-Pop idols than celebrities in Western entertainment and Hollywood. Kanye West, J-Lo and even legendary icons like Madonna also have more than enough buzz and they do far worse shit for clout and attention all the time, even in their hey days. Not to mention fake couples have been a thing in Hollywood for generations.

But the very idea of our precious idols (the same idols who love to draw inspiration from Western artists) engaging in these same media tactics is just absolutely disrespectful and unfathomable. Give me a break.
