Billlie - The Billage of Perception: Chapter 2

my B is a nice opener and the classic synthy quirky Billlie sound and establishes the quirky upbeat sound for the album early on. It's just so Billlie and very funky. Brave a song for Matilda has suchhh a pretty instrumental, it reminds me a bit of Red Velvet, the vocals on this track are incredible and sound sooo haunting as they build and build together. It just gives me goosebumps at how gorgeous it is. We stan girls who sing!! Ring Ma Bell was not the sound I expected from Billlie but the production on this is so good! Usually rock songs in kpop are not my thing as they're very bare minimum "rock" but this is a proper rock song with so much personality and the stand-out part is the guitar solo in the chorus that they're belting over and the bridge. Sun Palace is the sister track to Moon Palace from the previous album, so it's not as fresh as I expected, but it's still a good dreamy lofi track. Macguffins is so fun!! the structure is so creative and i love how it switches from vocals to chanting. so very Billlie, one of my favorites off the album. Back 2 Where We Belong is just a really, really pretty ballad, which is how Billlie usually ends their albums, and I love the yearning here.

All in all this is a really, really good mini album, and imo one of the best this year!

Just listened... Wow, this is another solid album from Billlie. ❤️ I'm loving their discography!  Every song is great... "B'rave a song for Maltilda", is probably my favorite track from the album. It's so smooth + the rap is nice! It reminds me of something RV would release too (another one of my favorite groups). It's definitely going to be on repeat. I love how "B@ck 2 where we Belong" has some acoustic guitar to the instrumental, it feels really sentimental + magical. "Mcgruffins" is so groovy and catchy, the vocals are amazing here with the adlibs.
