How is Twice's 'Talk That Talk' comeback faring on the charts?

From rivaling with the likes of Black Pink and Red Velvet, Twice is resorting to anything to stay relevant

1. [+629] Why do JYP groups start off so strong and get weaker over time... Wonder Girls, miss A, ITZY...

2. [+537] Wow, they really hit rock bottom ㅋㅋ and no reactions from any communities when they're showing this much skin ㅋㅋ I feel bad for them. I wonder if they'd be doing this poorly if they had just listened to the criticisms of their live singing when they were at the top and worked to improve in that time ㅋㅋ

3. [+370] There's only so much a difference in producer can do. Who can beat YG's Teddy? He has produced all of GD, 2NE1, and Black Pink's biggest hit tracks. Park Jin Young's amazing but his genre of music can never beat out the hip and trendy songs of current times, which is why his girl groups always push the cutesy innocent concept... which leads to the next problem, that those concepts aren't as popular with the American and European fans.

4. [+268] Makes you realize how amazing SNSD is... They debuted way earlier than Twice and yet has achieved much better results than them. It does seem to be a difference in talent.

5. [+241] Have all their fans left for other fandoms? Their first hour debut ranking is pretty shocking but also unfortunate ㅠㅠ

6. [+205] I guess the saying's true that girl groups show more skin the less popular they get...

7. [+203] They had two comebacks in 2016, four in 2017, three in 2018, two in 2019, two in 2020, two in 2021, and 20 Japanese promo albums... It's important for celebrities to maintain that push and pull with enough time in between for people to ramp up anticipation, but Twice has honestly been promoted way too often and used up all their image at once. Furthermore, every concept has been one of those gimmicky, one-dimensional concepts aimed to promote for a quick season so they can quickly get ready for their next comeback, like fast food pop with no real depth or flavor.

8. [+189] Black Pink's 'Pink Venom' got into Melon at #2 in its first hour, Red Velvet's 'Feel My Rhythm' was at the top as well.. Twice is pretty close to them in debut so at this point, it has to be chalked up to a difference in talent, both in company and group.

9. [+160] Park Jin Young needed to have provided more vocal lessons for the Japanese members and fixed their nasally singing style. One or two songs is fine but when they're nasally in every single song... Sure, that's what might've pulled in all of the male fans at the beginning, but you need to also capture the general public if you want a long running career. I just can't stand their songs... more than half their members aren't fit to be called singers. Their flop is really because of their lack of vocals.

10. [+142] Everything aside, the song is just bad ㅠㅠ obviously their visuals are amazing but I think they would've had a better reaction if they came back with something more similar to 'More and More', 'I Can't Stop', or 'Dance the Night Away'. The song and concept just don't live up to their visuals. Red Velvet had a long hiatus but their song and concept for 'Feel My Rhythm' was good enough for them to get a positive reaction. Same for Black Pink... Not sure how Twice ended up like this ㅠ but I'm just glad that the members all seem super close with one another right now..

11. [+118] I think their dating scandals had a lot to do with it... dating scandals are a one way ticket to downfall for idol groups. They shouldn't expect to be able to be an idol as well as maintain relationships.

12. [+85] ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ #78 in their first hour debut ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I agree, they don't have to worry about singing any encores this promo~

13. [+78] Well when they're always having comebacks, maybe people aren't even aware of another new comeback

14. [+73] Black Pink and Red Velvet are from the same generation as Twice but are still doing strong...

15. [+59] The reason Twice flopped: #1 terrible singing skills (Sana and Momo sing with that characteristic Japanese nasally voice that Koreans find difficult when listening to J-Pop) #2 JYP has tacky style and only views idols as products to sell (everything about their style is tacky / no musicality to their work, idols are simply products to market and sell, they really don't seem like they consider their idols as singers or albums with songs) #3 the members lack any star potential (they don't have a particular member to lead a generation like Jennie, Jang Wonyoung, Irene, Seolhyun, etc) #4 their fandom has terrible fans who hate on every other idol group (they seem to think regular people are idiots to believe their comments about how Twice has good live, how they're the one top). Twice was popular at first because they were one of the first groups to have Japanese members, but they were a group that was meant to be a flash in the pan at their youngest and prettiest. The worst for them is that all of their members are terrible at singing and now that they're older, they don't have room left in the industry for a group with no talent... This is what happens when you can't do your main job, you become a laughing stock.

16. [+58] Their songs all sound like the same old melody.. I guess they're idols so it makes sense for them to use up their image like this but it's a bit embarrassing to call them artists

17. [+54] Is there any other group that sing live as badly as them? Where's all the fuss about half air half sound ㅠㅠ

18. [+52] Their live skills have already put them at rock bottom for a while now

19. [+44] Nayeon's solo did well, though... I honestly think Twice would be better off following what SNSD did. Focus on solo promos for the next five years then comeback as a group for their 15th anniversary for the nostalgia fanfare.

While I loved this comeback personally,  I do think it's time for the girls should start building their personal/solo brands more. They comeback often, so it might be time to take a break with group promos and let Korea miss them.

Not that's not the only problem. They need proper promotions. Their last comeback was literally 9 months ago....

POP didn't start to raise until Nayeon appeared on variety shows. Sneakers didn't start to raise until Chaeryeong went viral on that variety show. Both songs took 1 - 2 weeks to reach the top 5.

Nobody knows they have a comeback. The only thing JYPE has done for this comeback & their pervious comeback was music shows & social media posts, which only fans check & watch.

The song is good & being praised but yet not rasing. Better promotions can help.

Fans shouldn't be questioned whether or not they have comeback because there was no proper promotions. Under their IG comments had Knetz questioning when they had made an comeback.

It's because Twice got popular from being the new fresh cute thing, but that type of popularity wanes as you get older. Their change in concepts was the last nail in the coffin. Korea wants the next underage jailbait GG, i.e. Ive and New Jeans.

BP and RV got popular off of their music and talent so that's why they've lasted longer. SNSD did mature concepts throughout their career and have a strong vocal line.

Nah not only comments under Sojang's video but also the knetz's comments here as well:

What's your point? I was talking about this post, containing comments about showing too much skin etc.

A better question would be "Why are people posting Sojang crap here?"

For real, the people here and the Pannchoa English comment section are the ones keeping this person relevant. Enough!

thats funny cause itzy are still top 10 on melon, sure their last comebacks always started weakly but they always managed to make it become a hit. miss a had a comeback once in a blue moon but they never flopped? their final comeback is probably their biggest single since good girl bad girl. and wg ?? why so lonely a hit as well 🤡
