JYP is F*cking NMIXX up

Disclaimer: this is not an attack on the girls

so, JYP has teased the upcoming cb of nmixx (after the hugely polarizing debut) and it's already a mess.

I said it before and I will say it again: JYP jumped into the bandwagon of girl crush, witnessed the success of Next Level and decided the concept to go with  ---> girl crush with mix pop---> bullshit

and this cb's teasers have proved my point

we thought that JYP would get get their shit together after the messy debut (first JYP gg that flopped digitally and couldn't compete with other rookies) and reconsider their plans regarding nmixx. But, nah, JYP no longer give a shit and I guess they're in the process of ruining their reputation of successful ggs.

let's look at this mess

I'm not gonna mention how fucking ugly this teaser is, but who in his right mind would name an album "ENTWURF". The fuck is ENTWURF? how do u even pronounce that. :wth:

and look at this second mess

WE NEED TO STAND AGAINST GIANT SHADOW FOR NEXT STEP. WILL YOU JOIN US IN THIS DANGEROUS AND CONFUSING GAME? VAMOS AMIGOS!

are you fucking kidding me? LMAO 🤣 :unimpressed:

so, now nmixx has a their own world (MIXXTOPIA) exactly like Kwangya,  and they have their own enemy/Villain, exactly like Black Mamba.

I'm not saying  kpop companies don't plagiarize every now and then and i'm not saying that SM is totally creative and innovative with their aespa's concept  either (cough kda cough).  but still, this is jyp we're talking about not some 3rd party nugu company,  and the direction they decided for nmixx is sloppy as fuck.

SM, at least, compensated by investing a lot in and enlarging the AI concept, (it's actually pretty cool ngl), and giving aespa listenable music

we all know how trendy concepts tend to be copied and replicated in kpop, but JYP , as a big3 company, is  not expected to be this cheap. The debut of  groups from big companies  is not a normal event because (1) the timing should be carefully chosen. (2) the concept of the group should be innovative,. This is because big companies' groups are the blueprints for the rest.

Everything about nmixx felt rushed when they debuted and it shows. The girls themselves are talented and are great performers but talent is not everything in Kpop. Idols needs chemistry, good planning, clever marketing and timing, creative concepts and music etc.

wouldn't it be better if jyp spent more time creating better music for nmixx after that mess of a debut instead of giving them this copy-paste cheap lore?

the girls deserve better.

why do korean agencies have such a sheep mentality, they see one concept that works and theyre going to milk it for the next 10 years. remember the tropical house invasion years ago?

to me it's very obvious that they were trying to replicate aespa's success. o.o was very clearly influenced by next level with its experimental aspect, but after seeing it didn't work i also assumed jyp would do better. perhaps the music will be better this time around, but the fact that they're clearly trying to create lore so similar to aespa's is already taking me aback. plus, they already had plagiarizing allegations with their debut, didn't they? i remember fans of loona and ateez bringing up similarities to their respective groups' mvs. it's such a shame because like you said the girls are very talented, but jyp is too focused on trying to measure up to their competitors that they're ruining their careers before it even began

I actually don't hate the ultra neon concept photos, it's interesting visually (kpop fans embrace weird! embrace ugly! embrace tacky!).

But I would agree that NMixx is JYP's answer to aespa - just like Stray Kids is their answer to BTS etc. JYP has always been a bit of a follower rather than a game changer, but NMixx is especially blatant. A lot of it feels almost like shock marketing in place of establishing a coherent identity for this group.

maybe they're trying a slow rise approach. it took NCT a while to become a top boy group because they were so experrrrrmient, but it paid off in the end. and nct is still able to promote ear noise.

but, i do wish this came off more original. we'll see.

I'm calling it, the hideous teasers are a red herring and JYP will deliver a gp friendly banger which will get them back on course.🤞

God, those teasers... Lee Sooman is probably cackling in his vault right now and Itzy is doing cartwheels in their dorm.

I think that this track will sound similar to O.O based on these weird teasers... Yeah, I don't like the lore/villain concept either. NMIXX could have had the R&B concept on lockdown and probably succeed with that, but seem like NWJN beat them to it.

I will wait for the song to drop to see if it is something I like, but I am not excited for now. I liked O.O, but they need to do something different with the concept this time.

What happened to JYPE? This has gone beyond and mess to straight dumpster fire. The only thing that can save NMIXX now is if the single and MV are actually good.

I didn't catch that before, but now I see it!

I think NMIXX is the final nail in the girl crush coffin. IVE 's and NWJN's success have shown the general public have moved on from that concept. The same goes with noise music. The top two girl groups that utilized that sound, Aespa and JYPE's own ITZY, have even moved away from that sound with their last two title tracks.

JYPE thought they could poop, call it gold and everyone would agree with them.
