Kpop is ruining my life

It’s ruining my college life. I’ve been in community college for 11 years since 2011 and I never pass my math class. Kpop is too distracting and I wish they would stop showing Kpop groups in news, videos different platforms and other stupid stuff. New groups debut every day. I don’t have time to be fan girling over boy bands and I’m sick and tired of losing friends over everything I do. Money is ruining my life too. If Kpop and money were human beings, I would beat the living shit out of them. I wrote a letter to money and told it to stay out of my life. I would tell Kpop to stay out of my life too. What’s your opinion on this?

my advice would be to just focus on your main groups. you dont need to be aware of every group or every release. like its good to have groups and artists you love and idolise and enjoy but not to the point where its all consuming. im sorry youre going through this. I too have never graduated from college (and never finished high school) but thats more because of physical and mental heath reasons causing me to put education on the side. I hope you manage to graduate and feel more relaxed to enjoy things you like again. but dont also put celebrities on a pedestal. they're normal people like you and me. just normally a lot more talented and beautiful than the average person lmao.

If this is not some shit-post, then I think you need to practice some self control. Blaming kpop is just taking an easy way out, because the one consuming it in excess is you. You need to take responsabilty at one point.

Same with money. Not matter what it is you're spending on, if you're over-spending, then that is also something that you need to take control over. If what you're dealing with is lack of money, because you're not graduating college, because you're spending your time consuming kpop, then it's time to talk to a therapist, a coach, family, friends or whomever is willing to help. It sounds like an addiction and you need to re-gain control over your life, even if it means quitting anything kpop related for good.

Time for some serious self-reflection: You've let 11 years go by. Are you gonna let other 11 go to waste?

If kpop is causing this much a problem, I suggest taking a break from it. And if you feel like this is physically impossible then I seriously recommend you talk to a professional about it (especially the money aspect). See if your uni has a counselor/mental health department because that's usually a free and accessible option.

What function does the kpop serve? Is it comfort when you're stressed, social community you can't get elsewhere, a thing you can focus on better than other things, or a part of your routine that is so embedded in your daily life you are having trouble changing it. Whatever it may be kpop has a purpose in your life and that ok! Kpop has been a big part of my life for eight years now and it's been mostly good but at times is been all consuming to the point of me being in mental pain yet unable to rip myself away from the idols and the music. I suggest you find therapy and if you can find a therapist that had a balanced view towards special interests, obsessions, fixations (whatever you wanna call them) and possibly a tutor for math to help you stay focused. I commend you for persisting for so long with collage and I hope you will be able to find balance soon!!
