How did ex-Lovelyz Mijoo suddenly become popular?

From what I remember, Mijoo went viral a few times in their career for her extra antics (like posing while walking to Music Bank) and she was one of the more extroverted and comedic members so I think that was how she became popular. She was on a few variety shows as well as dance shows (anyone remember she was on Hit the Stage back in 2016?) starting from 2016 and then her big break was when she got cast on Sixth Sense with Yoo Jae Suk in 2020. I think it was a gradual process, but I'm not 100% sure since I'm not a Lovelinus or a Mijoo stan.

Pretty much Mijoo has personality and knows how to use it (and since she was in a group where other members were comparatively quiet in comparison she stands out). She took the viral memes of her posing on the way to music shows to appearances on variety shows (where she was a hit since she is naturally funny) to being mentored by Yoo Jae Suk himself (and joining the same company as him) which guaranteed her variety appearances. The rest is history.

I think part of the appeal is Mijoo looks (and was) a visual in an idol group but has the personality of a comedian. Just like Song Jihyo and Jeon Somin, who are serious actresses in dramas, but on Running Man are okay with looking ridiculous or even not looking their best for the sake of the show. And the Korean public loves them for it.

Not suddenly, lol. Her popularity has been on the rise for the last 6 years, she's at her peak now. She has gone viral several times for her personality. She basically a comedian, hence why she has been added to these variety shows.
