[Pannatic] Daejin University clarifies that the reason they cast Cignature to their festival is because the girl group did not cost them any fee to perform there

Cignature was previously known as Good Day, they re-debuted under a different name. It is said that there's a member in the group who majors in Data Science in University of Michigan. They're in talk for being in the festival's line-up despite not being popular.

2. We will clarify about Cignature as one of the artist's line-up.

First of all, Cignature's company did not cost any fee for them to perform as one of their promotions method. Our Student Association is an organization that is operated with the student membership fees paid by students of Daejin University. Therefore, we focused on creating the best show with the lowest cost possible and decided to cast a girl group that doesn't cost anything to perform at our show. However, there seems to be a misunderstanding because we cast a girl group that has smaller popularity compared to the other artists, that's why we release this clarification.

-I feel sad for Cignature. I hope they'll hit big so that they wouldn't be treated like this again.

-What do you guys expect them to say?

-If the student association didn't clarify about it clearly, I'm 100% sure people will still talk about it. I understand that the fans would be upset to see this, but I think they did the right thing.

-They should've just stopped after saying that the girl group did not cost any fee. Why did they have to talk about the popularity, I think that's very rude.

-They really have to apologize to that girl group...

-No matter how unpopular they are, I think it's just wrong to state that in a clarification letter. They really have to apologize to Cignature.

-Why did they have to state the group's popularity? I think we already get what they mean even without that statement.

-Did they not review the letter before they posted it?

-Would they all feel fine if we say that their university is unpopular?

-Kids nowadays are really rude

-I'm not a fan of Cignature, but it hurts me to see that letter

-Just imagine how upset the girls are to see that letter... While you're here, go check out Cignature's Boyfriend, it's a great song.

They didn't need to clarify this, but C9 is also a bit messy to send these girls to festivals without getting paid, in hopes of getting them exposure. I read somewhere that they only have 29 employees, managing 3 groups and 3 soloists, and if that's true...well...

it's disappointing how poorly cignature has been managed compared to cix, lots nugu ggs have survived off festivals but if they're not even getting paid...

and cix hasn’t even been managed that great, so that says a lot, lol.
it’s like… cix management = poor > cignature’s =. terrible

The statement is so insulting and shady (why talk about their popularity, just mention they are doing it for free) if I was Cignature's company I would cancel - it's not like they are getting paid. All they had to do is say "Cignature is performing for the students free of charge. Please cheer them on!" or something like that, instead they insulted them. I've been involved in college festivals before and I've never seen a committee/organization go out of their way to be rude to a group they actually booked.

Also, while I usually never defend companies when it comes to things like this, much of nugu groups income is from festivals and personal appearances (goodness knows they don't make it selling albums). That's why so many groups disbanded during the worst of the pandemic, their companies couldn't send them out to make money (like Hinapia for instance which I'm sure relied on Pristin's fanbase to come out to personal appearances and then the 'Rona hit). Cignature is largely unknown among the GP so the company volunteers them to do college festivals for free in expectation that OTHER schools would see them on performance lists for festivals and hire them for a fee.

Not paying Cignature but afford enough to bring PSY.. Are they really using their budget wisely? 🤔

That's funny because PSY was one of the cheapest act. 15 million won/12, 000 USD.
