This translation leaves out that it was her first handshake specifically in her hometown (Kagoshima). So it was during her HKT48 days, in her hometown, and the Soompi translation says that the older woman directly asked her "Don't you remember us?", which lends credence to the possibility that it was her father or at the very least, someone significant from her past.
