it's amazing how koreans opinion changed with all that was been exposed about a members evading taxes and all the hybe shitty media-play.

if before they seems ok with the possibility of their exemption, now they don't seems to believe that BTS deserve it

yes, they are really popular but i think that saying that "they changed the music scene as The Beatles" is a reach.

what music scene?? bc i don't see any change in western music neither in kpop (besides that more english on songs than korean)

they cannot change anything bc they are following the US trend and releasing songs that america do and like. and in kpop, they changed their original genre that they is doing before before (may i remind all that BTS was a hip hop group and bc they got popular they started to release more mainstream music and now they dont even release korean songs. like i said before, as a kpop fan that is not something to be proud)

Also with them hitting big on US you would expect that more kpop groups would get attention but that is not necessarily happening and that is bc western dont like kpop style and songs in korean.
they like groups that can change their style to look more westernized and releasing music in english

let's talk seriously here: the only reason why this convo about exemption have being going on is bc of money and not bc they changed any music scene.
but i am pretty sure that kpop industry and even korea economy will be fine even without them. around this time there is always another group that ends up becoming popular. maybe not gonna be US popular but popular in asia
