According to album distribution company YG PLUS, the pre-orders for the first mini-album 'FEARLESS' of Le Sseraphim exceeded 270,000 copies as of the 20th. This is the number of domestic and foreign pre-orders for 7 days from the 13th, when the reservation sale started.

original post: here

1. The haters will hate on them no matter what ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ freaking pathetic. Just mind your own lives

2.  They still haven't promoted at all so seeing so many people shielding them is funny ㅋㅋ Of course, writing hate comments that cross the line isn't it either but calling everyone a hater is funnyㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ they have a school violence assailant and a right-wing

3. Aren't preorders usually lower than the first week of sale?

4. As expected, so many f*cking pigs out there~

5. Must be nice to still have fans despite having a bully

6. The user that exposed her on Twitter didn't even have any evidence and even said that they got sued. We will see with the law if it was really school violence or not

7. Wow

8. They have 2 of the most famous Produce members and I think that they were able to sell this much because of their Chinese and Japanese popularity. Isn't this expected?

9. They will hit 2x bigger without that school violence girl

10. I would've fangirled on them if they removed Kim Garam

11. Didn't NMIXX also sell over 200K albums in their first week? From being from HYBE to having Sakura and Kim Chaewon's name value and fandom, those aren't surprising numbers

12. What about the school violence?

13. Wow preorders of 270K?

Perks of having Miyawaki Sakura. This is only 7 days record, we arent even halfway with their teasers. It will hit 400k VERY SOON. Ultimately this isnt very surprising for me, Sakura carried a large amount of album sales in IZONE, theres soo many of her antis in denial of this so this a much deserved slap in their face.

it's nitpicking at this point

it kinda is, but consider two things: theres debuting like 15 GGs every year + kpop is not very diverse genre in terms of styling and concepts. so its the little details that make a difference.

I think some user here said that their styling is too male gaze and now I cant unsee it

Just like every other single girlgroup, to be fair. Supposedly "girl crush" concepts are often nothing more than an excuse for watching minors dance in BDSM/latex inspired outfits, and the "fairy/ethereal" concepts plays on patriarchal notions of purity and virginity. Not to mention the "school uniform" concepts with the very short skirts that absolutely no pupil would ever be allowed to wear at school. But unlike the others, HYBE suck at hiding their hidden motives.

Not sure why people were surprised. Nothing trumps company stans in K-pop, they were always going to buy this album, what the music sounded like, what the concept was, none of that was ever going to matter. There is very close to nothing that was going to stop this group from selling albums, the only question was going to be whether they cut a member loose or not. I mean that's what makes big business idol groups, big business idol groups, it's not about the music it's about the parasocial relationship and the transitive success.

For girl groups it is better to have more female fans, because they are loyal and buy a lot.

Conversely male fans in general are not loyal and do not buy as much.

Why girl crush is popular now, is because this genre is successful in getting female fans, hence the name "girl" crush.

They have young members to attract tween female fans. For example a 20 year old is less likely to be appealing to a 10 year old girl, compared to a 15 year old idol.

I agree mostly but I dont think its "every single other girlgroup". I personally dont take girl crush concept as such just because its sold as one. I judge myself if the outfits are unappealing to men. if some group wears baggy pants, loose fitting dresses and army boots, I think of them as genuine. but its sure quite hard to wear such outfits all the time when you must have a different theme every comeback. the lyrics are also important.
