You know what? I'm digging it, I want them to experiment and surprise us again and again.ย

Noone believed in them when they made their debut in the US. "Who would listen to Twice? Their style is not americans' cup of tea". Yet here we are: they had a successful US tour back in 2019, released the BOP of 2021 that is The Feels, sold out their second tour this year within minutes and sold out their 2 days stadium concert in LA within minutes too. Nothing can stop them and if they want to release a full english album, i'm totally here for it, if a gg can do, it's definitely Twice.

Hate to ruin the party butย most of these songs are by other artists with the sameย name, and the few that could actually be Twice's due to the producers have a registration # lower than some of their old songs (such as before Better) so they'reย most likely old rejected bsides

I'm soooooo here for it and I will be buying "said album" day 1 when it drops.

I'm glad to see a Korean gg making waves in the U.S. again. RV were supposed to have more promotional activities in the West but that came to a halt when Wendy got injured and nothing has transpired since then and BP has been radio silent.

I'm glad JYP decided to take advantage and now TWICE are doing the damn thing. I'm proud honestly.ย

If it's anything like The Feels then they can keep it.

They have so other English songs, which was well received by the general public & some of their highest streaming bside songs. Most of the general public liked The Feels, no surprise.

Twice has nothing to loose & everything to gain from this. The Feels was a hit & they have a huge US fanbase, let alone general English speaking fanbase, so I see this doing well

Wonder if there will be a physical release tho

It feels so weird to see Twice make this English/Western push in their 6-7th year after spending their entire existence dominating the domestic and Japanese market. I wonder if Blackpink's international success made JYP think again about attempting it (after Wonder Girls crashed and burned when sent to the USA). Weird because as far as I can see it is the ONLY JYP group (male or female) without a single English speaker (even conversational, let alone fluent) - something JYP made a point of including in Wonder Girls, Miss A, GOT7, Day6 - even ITZY seem to be able to hold their own in English interviews in ways Twice cannot (which is also strange in that JYP used to have trainees in every OTHER group take English lessons regularly, which has payed off in ITZY's fluency). I just thought JYP had given up on that market when he made Twice.

And before anyone tries to say it - no, Mina is not fluent or even that good in English, none of Twice is, just watch any of the more recent English interviews/YT videos they've done - it's sometimes uncomfortable to watch when the members have to speak it or read off scripts (except for maybe Jihyo and Nayeon).

I don't know why y'all always complain about this. Honestly, sick & tired of these topic. 1) They donโ€™t need an English speaker to be successful in the West, as matter doing way better than most groups with English speakers. Sure, don't have the general public & so on but their fandom has grown through it. 2) JYPE see the success & obviously playing with it. Why would they see their group increasing popularity & not take advantage of it? 3) Sure, TWICE wasn't suppose to be push in the West. I don't think this has anything to do with groups but just TWICE & their popularity. JYPE see money & growth, so of course they will push them. 4) I don't think JYPE really cares about TWICE in the West, if he did they would've promoted them better. Itzy & SKZ feels more for the West, its just because TWICE is popular that's why they're even blinking a eye at them. Now, they're using TWICE as the stepping stone for their other groups. 5) I don't care about the West but I'm honestly happy for the girls. I would take anything I can get for along as it's good promotion, good & new music. Enjoy thing!

If JYP didn't care about promoting Twice in the West... they wouldn't be promoting Twice in the West. Entirely English songs? Check. Appearances on American TV shows? Check. American tours? Check. Entirely English album? Possibly. What more do they need to do in order to convince you that this is something they're actively chasing?ย ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Was it short-sighted to not include any English speakers in the group? Perhaps. While they've obviously reached a profitable level of niche success in the US that they probably didn't expect, all without any English speakers, there's no way of knowing whether they'd have a legitimate chance at mainstream success had that been the goal all along. If it were ever a possibility, then being able to both sing and speak in English was the only way they were ever going to accomplish it. At this point in time that path is sealed shut. Which isn't the end of the world by any means, but it is nonetheless a bit awkward given how strongly JYP now wants to push them in this market.ย

They didn't care at first, lol. We all know TWICE wasn't created for the West. But seeing their popularity JYPE decided to push them there. If JYPE cared at the beginning they would've gotten English training, etc. JYPE only care now because they're are selling. They are taking English lessons now but that's not enough. That's all I'm saying.
