[Exclusive] LOONA's Chuu is revealed to have conflict with her agency...in a legal dispute

LOONA's Chuu (real name Kim Ji-woo) and her agency Block Creative are in conflict. Chu received a partial winning by the court in an injunction filed against her agency Block Creative to suspend her contract. As a result of the WikiTree interview on the 29th, the court recently approved Chu's request for an injunction to suspend the validity of her exclusive contract filed against her agency Block Berry Creative in December last year. Blockberry Creative has yet to release an official comment on the matter

LOONA is scheduled to appear on Mnet's "Queendom 2," which will premiere on the 31st. Chuu, who is in a legal dispute with her agency, is also reported to have participated with the members in the recent recording of Mnet's "Queendom Season 2."

She is one of my faves in Loona. 🙁 Do we know what is the lawsuit about? Did they not pay her or something?

from the source, they didn't state the exact reason for the lawsuit. but a lot of people speculate that the company might have overworked her. she had so many individual schedule in the past year

As others have said the lawsuit is presumed to be about her being overworked, though apparently her/other girls have implied before that they don’t get paid (or I guess if they do get paid it’s very little).

I hope more sources come about about this, but blockberry seems to be a hot mess of a company and personally I’d be pissed too if I had to work so much and barely get paid for it 🤷‍♀️

Yeah. It makes sense.

If I think about it... Especially in case they have predebut debt and contracts about sharing individual income among members as well. It would make it basically impossible for the group to get payment anytime soon even with moderate success. And one really overworked member wouldn't be able to change it. But honestly working without fair payment should be illegal.

yeah last time i heard bbc was pretty much going bankrupt? i hope this doesn't get messy, but i can't imagine them suddenly finding enough funds to pay chuu out for her work, which must be why the parameters of this suit mention being overworked. demanding money would probably guarantee her group doesnt promote again bc im sure shes lost a loooot of money thru bbc

There was a lot of suspicions that Blockberry was a money laudering scheme for a weapon dealer. With this rumour in mind, it's not surprising that they can't pay their artists fairly. Also their fall-out with Jaden Jeong always seemed a lot more sketchy than simple disagreements over LOONA's artistic direction.

Hoping a fair decision for Chuu's sake.
