Knights of Sidonia(Shidonia) is anime based off the manga series written by Tsutomu Nihei. The series is set in the far future onboard a human colony siege ship called the "Sidonia". It one of many ships that fled Earth after it was destroyed by alien species called the Gauna that possess regenerative healing and shape shifting capabilities Little is known about them nor do they have the ability to communicate with humans. Sidonia must fend for it survival from these recurring threat with the help of an elite mechanized weapons called Garde's

The show is also Netflix's first original anime series which debutted July 4th in both original Japanese casting and dubbed English casting

In my opinion yes. The animation is really well done and has real world physics. The storytelling is a tad heavy handed at times with regards to some supporting characters and their story arcs.

I'm not a big fan of Mecha type of Anime.. But this one seems realistic .. so It intrigued me..
