Opinion about the korean supporting the full korean kpop groups

Drama Drama Drama

Recommended Posts

With issues with chinese idols I always read about a lot of knetz complaining about non korean debuting on kpop and saying things like "For that reason I support BTS, BIGBANG, STAYC, APink, INFINITE, B2ST, or another group with full korean line up". "Bc kpop foreigners the korean youth has less chances of debut on kpop".

Your opinion about that knetz preference?

Do you prefer support full korean line up too?

I don't give a fuck. I think cnetz would be the same. These two countries should just get married or something.

Or not. I love dramas.

At this point, agencies should really stop debuting trainees from countries Korean have issues with. I'm worried about shen xiaoting, I wish her well.

I don't think Koreans have less of a chance at debuting. If a Korean loses a debut spot to a foreign trainee then they must not be half as talented because for a foreign trainee to even make it to that stage they have to be among the best. IDK just my opinion.

"For that reason I support BTS, BIGBANG, STAYC, APink, INFINITE, B2ST"
And yet 3/6 of those groups they claim they're supporting are currently either disbanded, in hiatus, or scaling down group promotions due to member withdrawal/ solo promotions.
Shows that knets like these are all talk, no action. 🤡
edit: omg 4/6 hard lmfao

well, I do think it's xenophobic

I once saw a survival show commentary vid on yt where a guy was trying to get people to not vote for japanese trainees and was mocking their accents, it was really horrible

on the other hand, I think sk has a really complicated history with the countries where most foreign idols come from, so even though it doesn't justify being hateful, I can understand somewhat why knetz might get like that

I feel like one of the reasons they prefer a full korean group is that there is less chance of them leaving the group when they're successful. Mostly the chinese members. How many chinese member of a successful group stay in the group? It could feel like the group is just a stepping stone for their ultimate goal which is a solo career in china. Personally i've stanned a group with chinese members in the past and after all of them left i just don't bother with any group with a chinese member.

It is blatantly xenophobic behaviour from K-Netz and it makes me really uncomfortable. These countries have a very complicated history but it isn't some kind of praxis to be hateful towards idols, many of whom are hated on before they even do or say anything. And they also do this with idols who have no historical baggage with Korea - Thai idols, Vietnamese idols, Koreans who were born abroad/gyopos. I think it's silly to follow what K-Netz think in this regard.

Also I really don't understand this mentality that Chinese idols are always disloyal - there are just as many cases of Chinese idols who served the entirety of their contracts and then left once their contracts were done, or they went back to work in China when the entire group was put on hiatus (so what else were they expected to do), as there are cases of groups with Chinese members pull a Lay or who sue.

china has a complete ban over anything korean while they take elements of korean culture and claim it as theirs, they pretend south korea doesn’t exist but hype the trainees that come from there because they must he so talented and mock their new years celebration for kneeling “like slaves” but god forbid koreans breathe away from a chinese idol. where were the people that are screaming discrimination now when every korean celebrity was being banned in china?

if they don’t want to stan a chinese idol, regardless of “loyalty”, i’d say their choice.

I too am from a country that got repeatedly fucked over by our neighbors, so I can relate. I know people nowadays act like your nation history shouldnt be relevant to your opinions but...why exactly? if your close relatives suffered, you have no obligation to accept foreigners just because some random people from sheltered western countries tell you you should. like, grow up and understand that bad actions have consequences for years to the future.

This must be one of the dumbest comment I've seen in this forum about geopolitics and that's saying something.
As if people from "sheltered western countries" don't also have relatives who suffered from past or current war conflicts. Germany literally invaded France, Belgium and the Netherlands during World War II. Colonial empires inflicted centuries of pain to the ancestors of many people who currently live in the West, not to speak of decolonial wars. But I guess it's easier to erase all of that and just say that people who disagree with xenophobic feelings are just "sheltered".

Also pretty ironic considering that fascist ideologies, whose roots are in thought processes like yours, straight up come from 30s West Europe and that same West Europe is right now seeing a resurgence of xenophobia.

They have a point. Not like Tao, Kris, and Luhan were the epitome of talent either…

Luhan sweetie im so sorry that people lump you on the same low talent level as Kris-Tao
I kinda see Thatoneuser's point tho..
Tao and Kris might not be the definition/epitome of talent overall in EXO but they are definitely 2x more talented when compared with the likes of Sehun.

Sehun can at least pose and model. He's definitely more talented than Tao and Kris. Sorry not sorry.

If that's all what he could do then what a waste of all those hours and resources spent training on singing, and rapping
to end up succeeding only as a male model in his solo career.

And Kris can somewhat sing. Plus it takes talent to make ridiculous lyrics like "big bowl thick noodles" sound so cool that even senior C-artists cover his songs
Call me when Sehun's "shwaty imma party till the sundown" or his solo songs has the same impact.

Tao and Kris got acting roles and fashion endorsements too.
They were also able to get a solo singer/rapper career out of their mediocre talents and a position as mentors / judges in chinese survival shows.
(Maybe not Kris anymore but that's due to his character as a rapist, scammer, and possibly even a pedo -- not due to his talent)
That Sehun couldn't even get in as a contestant or a collab guest performer in a K-survival show while junior SM artists already have that in their belt
is just proof of how low Sehun's talent is perceived to be by the Kr gp, the Kpop industry and even by SM.

Sure knetz show xenophobic moments to foreigners all the time, only because they’re either still can’t get pass the history of each other or they’re just plain jealous of them. But that doesn’t justify their actions & not only sk does it but china & japan also does xenophobic things too so I can kinda see where the netizens are coming from.
