re: company desperation...my thoughts exactly.  marketing through controversy in hopes to snag a few more views and drive up engagement.  i wish nature had stuck with a similar concept to their 'girls' MV...but their company really dropped the ball.

more than just the company, wouldn’t it be much the girls’ faults themselves? from comments on the teaser it seems that all of the members participated in the production of this comeback and even came up with the styling themselves too.

everything would have to be company-approved anyway but yeah...seems like the members had a say as well.

It’s really bizarre how as much as we know idols don’t have control over things like this, people still take it out on them when it comes to the desperate wokescold “cultural appropriation” mess

I guarantee you the only people being offended by it are Becky’s from Tennessee

Such a shame that they can't get fully supports because of this culture issue.

A snippet of it can be heard at the end of this video and I think it is great.

The feedback are still devided into 2 sides on this tweet and on their MV teaser.

Among those who are offended, are there people directly from the appropriated cultures? I hope it's not another "I'm offended for them"

Yes, those fake woke sjw ruined "cultural appropriation" and make people dismiss true proper ca in a lot of cases. I saw one recently in my country 21 rewind.

I'm sure they will miss these twitter accounts who get less than 10 likes on their posts. 😂

But this whole i-fan woke mentality of kpop artist wearing anything = CA is actually braindead.

Quote

blatant mocking of both South Asian and African culture we have subsequently come to the decision that we will be halting our promotions of the group and their comeback ‘RICA RICA’.

Going "rica rica" in their chorus is apparently "mocking" asian culture (lol) and african culture (?) where is the mocking? In what way are they mocking cultures? Using something from another culture doesn't mean mocking it. And it is strange how only female groups are ever attacked for CA and never male groups... Seems like some petty form of sexism.

These people have such a backwards viewpoint and mindset, they actually are not sane.

I'm not even boy group stan, actually I don't even like one korean boy group, but many of them got accused of CA because of their costumes, hairstyles, lyrics etc. It's not only girl groups people are focused on.

Kpop does this time and time again.  At this point if you hate it, just leave. These companies aren't going to listen to you.  Especially when some intentionally create controversy,  because "bad pr is good pr".

Either expect to be disappointed or just leave kpop all together. 🙃
