Are k-pop living an empty house era btw 3rd/4th gen transition?

Based on @Zaheer opinions what I read

With hiatus of top tier girl groups maybe the generation shift is starting.

With rising success of aespa, ITZY, IVE or STAYC success. Korean gp and kpop fans started to give chance to new gen. They want new fresh girls to stan.

But BTS house hold power is a hard sword for new gen boy groups. 4th gen bgs can sell 1M but without gp smash hit maybe the sucess is empty and new generation male crown is still vacant.

The empty house of new generation will be full when more 4th gen group can win grand prizes and conqueer good digital success with gp recognition.

When it comes to BGs, i think the 3rd gen is still going strong tbh…BTS, Seventeen, NCT, Monsta X, Astro..they are all doing so well..and are pretty active too..

As for the 4th gen GGs..i think the gp is enjoying the new groups for now, but i bet you once the 3rd gen GGs disband, they will feel the gap…i dont think 4th gen is still quiet there right now…the variety will be missed…its is already missed with some groups disbanding  or going on indefinite hiatus..Gfriend, CLC, Lovelyz and then we got the Unknown future for Twice, BP, RV OMG..there are no replacements for these giants….

those two are going strong ? really ?

for astro, yeah. going from selling around 130k per album in 2020 to 360k in 2021 is a major increase. most recent comeback is also their highest charting gaon music chart.

same with monsta x. and starship is smart. they know they have a known presence internationally compared to their domestic popularity and they've been releasing english studio albums.

Twice, BP, RV OMG

oh man, just imagining their potential disbandments hurts. we'll lose a lot of variety just from these four.

twice - it's amazing to see how much they grew. from being hated on because they made cheerful music to putting out stellar b-sides, as well as maturing their concept without alienating too many of their fans.

omg - pretty much the 'iu' of kpop music, and i mean in terms of musical style. their b-sides are diverse and their title tracks are public friendly, which is honestly what we need more of in the current state of kpop. since kpop has gone international, many companies have obviously began trying out for 'louder' and bolder and omg is just refreshing to see in the sea of girl crush groups.

bp - sometimes you don't want to rock out to preppy and bubblegum pop in kpop. reasons may vary and it can be embarrassing and whatnot, so bp will always be that group people would use to appeal to non-kpop fans. they're modern, chic, cool, and say what you want about their music, it's trendy.

rv - honestly the bridge between all kpop fandoms. don't get me wrong, there's obviously going to be fanwars. but when i see multistans, rv is 95% always on their list and that's mostly a testament to their great concepts and songs. you never really know what to get from rv. all you know is that you won't get it more than two times, lmao.

because kpop generations before never saw global groups like BTS whose influence is still so strong  after all these years. BTS popularity also helped other groups gain many international fans who are not like the korean fans (they don't get bored of idols easily). western fans for example are used to see their acts making albums every 2 or 3 years.

the norm was to have a super popular group that reaches a peak and then either go into hiatus, join the military, disband, get mistreated by their companies.

this is exactly why we're seeing groups selling millions left and right but without an actual noise. They're not at the top yet.
