I like to take a look at the current weekly top 50 Singles Rankings when Kohaku was aired (here's the link) The only notable Kohaku buffs I saw are the idol songs (Snow Man, SixTones, Nogizaka46, Sakurazaka46, Hinatazaka46). There's also Bump of Chicken at #8 but the single was just released last week before Kohaku, so I'm not too sure if there's a boost on that. So I think the only music artist I saw in the chart that is getting a boost is LiSA, even though it's just a slight boost. The single itself was released on November and it went back to top 20. Meanwhile the other music artists have a huge boost on digitals and streaming than physicals. Just take a look at this Japan's iTunes link and notice how many songs there are that were performed on Kohaku. kevinpr9 34
100k+ for a debut album and it's not even a week yet. That's really incredible for Ado! Edited January 28, 2022 by kevinpr9
kevinpr9 34
Ado scores 142k at debut week. And with these numbers: - She's the first female soloist to have a #1 debut album since miwa with her debut album "guitarissimo" on Apr 2011 - She's also the first female soloist to have a debut album scoring 100k+ copies on debut week since Superfly's self-titled album on May 2008 - If we exclude K-pop and the idols, the last time a debut album reaching 100k+ copies on 1st week was "Ano.. Konnan Dekimashita Kedo" by Yusuke on December 2009 She has accomplished three feats that were last achieved more than 10 years ago. This is really incredible! I was surprised because I only recognized her name from Usseewa but looking at her youtube view numbers she seems to have several big songs. I didn't love Usseewa but I should get around to checking her album out soon. Remember when Usseewa got controversial because of the lyrics? Ado went on to have a #1 debut album with 140k+ copies
