It’s not the show that gets people to sit down for 2 hours, it’s the emotional investment in the trainees

My previous one-pick got eliminated with no screentime at all so I never watched anything before first elimination but now I have new pookies (with screentime!) to actually watch the show for. 

I watch closely when the trainees I like are on screen and then read Twitter reactions or do other things when they’re not, and tune back in for the performances.

LAW team: Yas phanbin getting #1!!! I expected Yujin to snatch it away tbh. Kamden is a really good performer lol even tho he looks dead half the time off stage

Man in Love team: MINGYU  bless his heart he did good and his rap was good too. Taerae delivered pipes, lowkey agree with the vocal master saying he sounded old but he fixed that lol, he kinda sounds like he could sing osts, like smth in style with I'm Saying - Lee Hong Ki. Dongyeol did really good too, stable

Rush Hour team: STRESS. I suffered seeing my son crying.

Limousine team: Jihoo killed it and anthonny has a rly beautiful voice. Overall good performance

Feel Special team: STRESS. and also who tf does Shuaibo think he is  poor woongki you're #1 in all of our hearts  he has a pretty voice and was rly stable

Not Spring, Love or Cherry Blossoms team: stole my heart  it was so pleasant to listen to and they were all so good. Lowkey surprised at the ranks even though I agree lol daeul's evil edit must've really tanked his popularity but also Ichan #1! yay. And why the hell hasn't Doha been rapping from the very start, he sounds much cooler and he looked rly confident on stage

Butterfly team: Cong's voice  you had a good run king. I like the song so I enjoyed the performance it was rly pretty and Junseo did okay!! him crying made me feel rly bad lol. Kuanjui fit the concept

Tomboy team: not them straighifying the lyrics  i wanted to hear a WHY ARE YOU CRANKY BOYYYYYYY but oh well. obviously they did good and i love that #1 for hao he sounded rly cool

My fav out of these... probably NSLOCB? Maybe I need to rewatch lol but it was cute

Thank you everyone for their replies. I'm going to try and tune in for the live episode this week though it doesn't exactly match my timezone so I'll only catch the first half. Can they go back to airing on Fridays like the good ole Produce days?

I gave the full watchthrough another shot. A bit hard to get through but it actually changed my opinion on quite a few trainees and introduced me to a few new ones so I'm thinking of continuing. 

Yes I'm behind but these are my Ep 2 Hot Takes

• If Ricky was Korean, he would be the most popular Yuehua trainee. Top visual of the show. Yujin Gyuvin who?
• Pentagon aren't good at song covers (from what I've seem with It's Live and here with Hui). They ruin the song with their re-arrangement and should just stick to covering the original song as is. It's not worth changing up the song unless you can do it well like what Junhyeon's team did with Jessi's song. Hui is a good singer and has can produce good songs from what I've seen with Energetic and Boyness. But then he pulls a complete 360 with something like this trying to seem artistic. STOP because it might just be one of the contributing factors to why Pentagon is always just short of breaking the nugudom barrier. 
• Jiwoong dances like an octopus. He would've fit perfectly with Yanjun's HOT performance.
• pH-1 is Don Mills 2.0. Does anyone remember that guy?
• Mingyu deserved 1 star. He didn't flop as hard as the other 0 stars and was no different from Takuto.

Tbh i wouldn't touch the top row, and it's kinda good having Phanbin here, about the rest i kinda want only Gyuvin or Yujin since both are kinda visuals with little talent we don't really need 2 of them, Personally i would keep Gyuvin instead of Yujin but... Ig the rapper would be Gunwook but i think a foreign rapper would work better (Keita/Haruto/i dont really know who the rappers are?), i would prefer hui or jay instead of taerae for main vocal and to end the top 9 i would add wangzihao/chenkuanjui/ricky... maybe that's too many foreigns... ig the rapper can remain korean)

Anyways I'm quite happy with Shanbin, Jiwoong, Zhanghao, Phanbin and maybe Gyuvin so it's a win 4 me

I think Ricky instead of Matthew wouldn't be controversial (at least internationally) i don't think anyone can change Shanbin for anyone atp. He's everybody's fav... maybe Seungeon for Taerae?
