JYP Entertainment announces DAY6 member Jae's departure from the band & the agency

According to JYP Entertainmenton January 1, DAY6 member Jaehas decided to leave the band and the agency.

Read JYPE's official statement below:

"Hello, this is JYP Entertainment.

First, we would like to sincerely apologize to the My Day who have always cheered on DAY6 for bringing you this sudden news. 

As of December 31, 2021, DAY6 member Jae will be leaving the band and ending his exclusive contract with JYP Entertainment, due to personal reasons. JYP Entertainment arrived at this decision in order to respect Jae's wishes, after a lengthy discussion with the idol. 

Although our relationship with Jae has now come to an end, JYP Entertainment will continue to dcheer on Jae's new beginning in the near future.

Finally, JYP Entertainment promises to provide the agency's fullest support toward the activities of DAY6, and we ask My Day for your unending love and support.

Thank you."

Best of luck to Jae in his future endeavors.

god, ppl were posting under his hiatus post about how 'he should just leave' 
I wonder if he saw those and it got too much for him

I'll miss him a lot in day6 and im glad I got to see him in the band in concert, I know he wasn't perfect but he really did try his best for day6

That or perhaps they'll revisit the situation when day6 is done with their enlistment. But he makes it  sound like he/they still have plans once they're done.

Was JYPE trying to stall him leaving or make him change his mind?

Seems like his mind was already made up and the fact that the company announced a hiatus makes them seem foolish.

i mean, if i was given the option of either the rose's former nugu company where you don't know that you'll be treated horribly until it's too late vs. jype, who has a reputation to hold up to, there's an obvious choice, lol.

errr, idk what's going on here, but good for him for leaving jyp. It was obvious he had simply become miserable there with all the restrictions placed on him. He can finally do what he wants now.

If he wants to stay in day6 he should know he'll have to go back to korea and the korean fans of the other members are going to rip him apart, i think he's hoping for his best scenario where they just change agency and everything is good but his problem is with the korean culture itself

He is literally trying to align himself with a group of people/community who continue to make xenophobic and racist comments/content, like it’s good he’ll get a break from everything and some peace but it’s something that can’t really be ignored.
