How come IVE didn't end up like post-IOI groups?

starship played their cards right and did exactly what every produce fan wanted. witnessing ioi and wanna one, many companies should've taken notes on what happened to post ioi groups and it kind of seems like only starship listened, lol.

they got a smaller group, they didn't prioritize the alumni members over the new members like in the case of dia, they also didn't underutilize them like gugudan (where sejeong was put in the back a lot during their debut), they had a good concept and a good debut song. it helps that starship also didn't rush out a debut, but also didn't wait too long. honestly did not expect ive to do so well digitally.

Edit: What I mean by this is that IVE's debut is by far bigger than any post-IOI group, although it is always possible that hype will die down later and their debut becomes their biggest song since this occasionally happens in Kpop.

which i hope isn't the case. i hope it won't turn out like a dalla dalla and latata situation where the debut overshadows their next comebacks.

in another different type of success, what i've noticed is that ive actually has an international fanbase, which is helping their presence in social media immensely. usually post-produce groups have a much more loyal following in their domestic fanbase, but ive seems to have a decent following for both (obviously more in the domestic fanbase, but their international fanbase is quickly growing). it helps that izone had a big international fanbase as well compared to ioi and wanna one, groups who really had a loyal following in south korea and southeast asia in terms of international.

IM TELLING YOU SMALLER GROUPS WORK!  IOI fans called me crazy but I spoke the truth.

They also debuted at the just right time.  Not much competition on the charts, not too soon after Iz*one's disbandment but not too late either.

The song is good, the MV is good, and public-friendly.

It's like all the stars alligned for IVE to become a top tier group.  Starship did everything right, let's see if they keep it up.

i wouldn't say they don't have much competition, tbh. like yeah, they aren't facing major groups, but they are facing show me the money songs, which have had a chokehold on korean charts since its debut as a show, lol. and this season in particular seems to be very popular.

the fact that they're charting alongside iu, davichi, show me the money, and all these christmas songs rising, they definitely are in the general public's interest right now. even more so with so many of their clips going viral on youtube.
