Day6’s Jae under fire for his view on idols

Why do people have to blow up everything he says? Geez from his gaming to this. I assume he meant it he was taking a break for himself not for anyone else. His problem is that he is too honest and apparently kpop fans can't handle it 🤦🏾‍♂️

Right? They want an honest k-celeb and when one is honest they don't like his honesty. They want to hear what they want to hear.

stan twt being mad at Jae, what else is new. I hope he doesn't apologize for what he said and take it back.

Honestly tho, it's obvious jyp doesn't care about day6, they've already formed a new band to replace them. I doubt Jae will re-sign, so he might as well go wild and say w/e he wants

He isn't wrong. Kpop idols/groups are essentially manufactured. Idols are taught to sing, dance, how to speak and act infront of everyone, what type of character/personality they have to portray. You can never know what type of person your favourite idol might be and we've seen clear examples of this of these idols turned criminals (not that all idols are criminals).. If you think your favourite idol never lies/acts fake, you're probably deluding yourself.

Obviously he is a celebrity and people put them so high on a pedestal like they are Angels from heaven. Obviously things like this crushes those type of people. I don't care since we've known the music industry anywhere has manufactured people. I mean look at Britney she was practically a robot controlled by her dad.

I can kinda see how his comments might be interpreted in a cringey almost 'not like other girls way' especially when he's implying it about his own band and I think criticism on the way he said it makes sense, but it's stupid for people to act like he doesn't know what he's talking about when he's just speaking from personal experience.

No, he is right. It's the truth. But... it feels condescending to me. Like he's on a high horse. And idk, it bothers me a little bit when people talk about idols in this way, knowing that these idols are not going to be able to respond, or defend themselves, or even join the conversation and confirm those ideas. He should just speak for himself. Especially since he was never a traditional k-pop idol anyway. He doesn't know what it's like to be a GOT7 member or a Stray Kids member. He's in a band. The fact that he has been so outspoken is a PRIVILEGE granted to him, because he is not an idol.

Sure, us outsiders joke about k-pop being manufactured all the time, but you'd think he'd have more respect for his industry peers, but I suppose it's not surprising he comes over from America being patronizing to his peers. Stella Kim had a much more mature and meaningful discussion about what it means to be in the k-pop industry. That's what it looks like when someone has respect for the people they've worked with for years, and are at peace with the choice they made to participate in that industry.

his vibe is off. gives me the impression that he puts himself on a higher pedestal and deems himself as "super different not like other kpop idols". pick me vibes basically. also kinda threw your friends under a bus a bit but we move ig lmao it wasn't a lie what he said

the tweets aren't available so i don't know if they're the ones about what i'm referring to but i really don't like that he's calling other idols brainwashed... something is so off about it. just speak about your own experiences, bro.

also calling his own band inauthentic, weird but ok

He didn't say anything new.. these guys and gals manufactured image is why many are fans of them lol hence why when some find out "on knee" or "oppar" smokes cigarettes many of um get turned off cause it doesn't suit the innocent sweet boy or girl image they fell for.

Anyways can I just say im quite tired of this whole.. hate k groups from... people in general.. because the true tea is if many of these people "speaking out" were in a famous money making group... im talking training day fees paid off and each member is making BANK and deals are coming in from the left and right, they'd be elated let's run those facts as well...

Sorry not sorry it comes off as very bitter..
