I want that distinctive unique tone that makes the goup stand out for instance we have rose in BP, Nayeon in Twice, JK/Jimin in BTS, SNSD Tae and Jessica , Super Junior , exo etc etc etc Out of everybody you named, the only one with the unique* vocal tone for me would be Rosé (partially thanks to yg and their push for a certain type of vocal technique) lmfao. I personally think Lily M's vocal tone is distinctive. It's husky and low. The opposite to the mostly high tone vocals you mentioned. It wasn't surprising that YG was gunning for her so hard on KPOPSTAR after her first performance. She had everything he was looking for. Strong vocals, techniques, and an interesting tone. Really, she definitely had one of the more memorable voices on KPOPSTAR. Anywaysss, they're gonna slay in the next upcoming kpop generation. 2

Jimin? Nayeon? Yesung? AOA Choa? Hyorin? etc? I mean I don't have a list of exact comparisons but, the majority of the ones you mentioned have that nasal-y tone in common (you have a type yes?). I used to get taeyeon's and jessica's vocals mixed up. I do think that singers with that type of pitch is more memorable to the ears, but again, it's not really uncommon. jimin and jungkook's vocals aren't unique to me either. I wouldn't be able to pinpoint their voices out of other boy groups. I just listened to aoa's choa and same goes for her. yesung sounds like a lot like other power house sm vocals and ballad singers I've heard before as well. maybe not exact tone, but he blends in. hyorin (who you didn't mention earlier) has that really sweet, really feminine tone that I have heard before as well. but I think I would be able to remember hers out of all the ones you've mentioned. I mean it's not necessarily a bad thing. no one ever looks for that anyways. take adele, obviously great singer, but I don't think her tone is anything special. and that hasn't hindered her from being a superstar.
