New Girl Group Concept Trend(?): Creepy, Quirky Girl Crush

I've just notice that there's been a few groups with this sort of feel debuting/releasing music. While only a few of them truly make dance performance a priority, all of them focus on vocal performance.

Dreamcatcher was the first to try the concept and be successful:

Red Velvet even dips their toes into this aesthetic every-so-often:

 

Recently we have Purple Kiss, Pixy and (now) Billlie debuting with some version of this:

I do like this kind of concept, but I definitely think of it as seasonal. Pixy and Dreamnotes' were definitely Halloween releases

i definitely love these concepts and the songs are usually really good, i'd love to see more

I don't think it's a seasonal thing with Pixy. Their debut track, posted up above, came out in February of this year. The other tracks they've released have been similar to their first

Ponzona one of the best debut songs. GG usually debut with cutesy songs which are boring af

Like others have said, I do like the concept, but the music itself doesn't do anything for me. It's often just... very loud and doesn't really go anywhere.
