Article: "Impossible for a 45 year old to have a body like this" famous international body builder accuses Kim Jong Guk of abusing steroids

Source: Everyday Economy via Naver

1. [+3,243, -78] Kim Jong Guk is too stingy to spend money on drugs

2. [+716, -72] He achieved that body without ever serving in the army

3. [+301, -70] He was exempt from the army too

4. [+233, -21] I think Kim Jong Guk would think spending money on drugs for body building is a waste... ㅋㅋ

5. [+174, -12] Just say you're jealous, man...

6. [+116, -5] He only uses three squares of tissue at a time, I doubt he'd spend money on drugs. This guy doesn't seem to know anything about Jong Guk hyung.

7. [+93, -2] Why is he picking a fight from so far away ㅋ

8. [+88, -6] Westerners always age faster than Asians which is why he probably can't believe that Kim Jong Guk looks the way he does. He's always taken very good care of himself and stuck to meal plans and exercise regimes.

9. [+65, -9] All he does is work out all day, it'd be weirder if his body didn't look like that..

10. [+56, -5] And who cares if he does use drugs anyway? Not like he's a sports athlete...

11. [+44, -2] To all of you guys giving him crap about not serving in the army... a herniated disc may sound common but it hurts like crazy if you don't exercise enough. Not his fan but it doesn't sit right with me to see others put him down for that.

12. [+29, -4] Just seems like this Canadian ajusshi is upset that someone older looks like he's still in his 20s-30s...

All I've heard about steroid abuse in Korea is that it's ridiculously common

I don't know anything about this guy but I'm laughing at the "no way, he's too stingy, he doesn't even use a full tissue to blow his nose!" or whatever...

Wasn't Yunho making a big deal taking videos of himself all fucking N95'd up in his apartment, literally MASKED UP in his own damn apartment lol, convincing the world of his excessive good boy image, and then like 2 weeks later he was running from police.... out of a prostitution house.... with friends..... after curfew.... during covid. Lmao.

Idk I don't know this person at all but I'd trust this old man's take on steroid use more than I trust a bunch of gullible ass knetz lol

So are muscles supposed to atrophy after a certain age or something?

Muscular atrophy is a very normal bodily process that can begin as early as 30 so yeah, the answer to your question is yes. But in the context of Kim Jongkook who eats healthily and never misses out on exercise (obviously), it is virtually non-palpable.

To provide context... Kim Jongkook debuted when Yunho was only 9 years old. He has been around for way longer and his personality has been nothing but consistent. It's not actually self-portrayed like what your example of Yunho is but it's verified through various accounts from other people. Yoo Jaesuk, Cha Taehyun, Lee Kwangsoo, Haha, and nearly all people surrounding Kim Jongkook have been very vocal of the latter's stinginess and overall personality. The dots do connect so as a fan of Kim Jongkook since I discovered Running Man, I circumstantially believe what the knetz say rather than the seemingly-insecure youtuber.

What's so seemingly insecure about him? I'm curious. The video he made seems very fair in my opinion and far from a "call-out" that this ridiculously sensationalist title makes it out to be. What if KJK is stingy with regards to everything except for drugs?

I would definitely trust an opinion (a very measured one btw) of a former professional bodybuilder and someone very knowledgeable about steroid usage in general than a random knetz with zero credentials

did he point out any specific signs of long-term steroid abuse or was it more on a generalised side? drugs is a possibility but on the other hand KJK's been maintaining his fitness level consistently through his life and while deterioration of muscles over the years is inevitable the rate at which it does so is particular to each person

The main thesis is that he's on TRT, which helps him not only sustain, but in fact slightly improve his physique at such an "advanced" age, not that he abuses all sorts of steroids. He also never mentioned "abuse", just that he's probably taking a dosage typical for someone who's currently on TRT. This whole article is so incredibly sensationalized, it's hilarious.

He also admits there's an option that he's natural, but it's highly unlikely

I thought it was common knowledge that majority of buff celebrities were using steroids :derp:

TRRRRRRRRRUUUE

I'm pretty sure most people who aren't extremely naive do know that the majority of buff celebs take steroids, just not the ones that they like 😏

For what it's worth, I didn't clown you (I ⭐d u) , I appreciate your insight. I just didn't respond bc I didn't really have anything to add. I'm still inclined to trust the bodybuilder dude but I didn't feel like I would be adding anything by saying so haha. It seems like you're a fan of him, so your opinion as a fan is ultimately more important than mine as a random outsider.
