What are your teeth brushing customs???

1. How many times do you brush your teeth in a day?

2. Do you do it before or after you eat?

3. How long does it take for you to brush your teeth?

I remember being told by my High school Health teacher that we are supposed to brush our teeth for 2 minutes.. I can barely do it for 30secs lmao 😭😭 I don't know anyone that brushes their teeth for 2 mins straight.

4. How often do you change your toothbrush?

This is something I've been curious about for a while now. I've heard that in many different places, people brush their teeth differently.

ummm

  1. 3 times a day unless I'm out during the day or I wake up extra late lol.
  2. After. wew the taste of toothpaste while you eat? no thank you.
  3. I have a electric toothbrush that calculate the time cause I can't be bothered, so it stops itself automatically after the time. I would say it's around 2minutes but I do sometimes have to go longer cause I'm distracted.
  4. I'll say normal one like .. 4months? While electric one I tend to keep longer.

Didn't think I would see a thread like this today when I opened OH ngl. 818205632213024809.gif?size=96

I brush my teeth for two minutes two or three times a day. Once in the morning and once at night. You’re supposed to wait 30 minutes before you eat for the fluoride to settle. Or 30 minutes after. Since I have small cavities I am rinsing a lot more. But I never rinse the toothpaste out.

I change my toothbrush head every three months.

1. Usually 3-4 times a day. I really can't stand mouthwash so I'm relying on my brushing abilities.

2. before. can't stand my morning breath lol

3. usually 1 min but if I'm in a rush I'll do it under 30 seconds

4. I change it after 4 months because I buy a pack of three at the start of the year.

If you don’t like mouthwash, try alcohol free. It doesn’t burn at all.

It mostly the gargling part that i can't stand. When I used to use it I had an irrational fear that i would accidently swallow it while gargling.

wait I'm seeing many comments about electric toothbrushes! Do ya'll recommend it over manual brushing? Might be a dumb question but how safe is it? My parents got me a hello kitty one when I was like 7 and I remember spitting up a lot of blood (to be fair, seven year old me was not the sharpest and I wouldn't put it past her to misuse a toothbrush. But the trauma of seeing s sink full of blood (that has been diluted by water and toothpaste) definitely stuck with me).

Ohhhh. I get it. Practice rinsing with water after you eat anything sugary!

Thanks! I haven't gone back to mouthwash in a while now but I really need to get over this irrational fear. It makes going to the dentist quite anxiety inducing (especially when they use that damned water flosser tool).

1. Twice a day, morning and night.

2. After

3. 2 minutes each, my toothbrush has a timer so it's easy

4. When the outer "hair" of the head change color. Usually they are blue or green, when they fade into white I change it

Maybe you were pushing too hard. I also had some blood at the beginning, but I've been using electric for so long that I forgot what stopped the bleeding lol. I guess you learn not to push too hard on your gums after a while.

You don't have to gargle the mouthwash tbh. As far as I know gargling doesn't actually do anything. Take a sip, move the liquid around in your mouth for 30 odd seconds and then just spit it out. It's how I do it at least.

2-3 x a day

after eating

3-4 minutes

i just change it when the bristles r starting to bend idk

if u do get a electric toothbrush and ur gums bleed again, ask ur dentist how to brush your teeth properly. it sounds dumb maybe but i really think most kids dont get taught how to actually properly brush their teeth, atleast i know i didnt. ever since ive been taught an actual order+technique to brush my teeth i havent had bleeding gums which i had a lot before

This is something I've been curious about for a while now. I've heard that in many different places, people brush their teeth differently.

  1. At least two times a day, in the morning and before sleeping are a must. If I get the sensation of needing to clean my teeth during the day, then I brush them, unless I'm out. Weird thing is I've Pavlov-conditioned myself to feel sleepy after my night brush, so I have to plan when I do it, lol.
  2. Before eating then wait at least 30 mins.
  3. Idk where I learned it, but it was something about brushing as long as the Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer song, so I hum that when I brush like clockwork.
  4. It's supposedly every three months, but I'm not very strict with that.

I've also heard from different dentists that you are supposed to not spit out the toothpaste right after, and rinse after a little while so it will have better effects. I used to do that, but I've been forgetting lately. Also, floss. but not nightly.

1. Twice. Once in the morning, once at night. Three times if I decide to eat something sweet in the evening/afternoon

2. After...who wants to taste tootpaste while they eat? Not to mention you'll just have to brush them again.

3. I stick to two minutes.

4. About every 4 months?

1. 2 times a day

2. Depends. Most time, after I eat. If in the morning am planning on eat late, then I brush before.

3. 3 minutes

4. 2 - 4 months

1. Two times! Right after I wake up and right before bed. I also use mouthwash and floss, but I have no idea how people gargle mouthwash when it foams up so much. 😭

2. Before. I usually don’t eat right in the morning anyways, so it’s not a problem for me.

3. I wanna say like a minute to two minutes. honestly, sometimes I get distracted and end up brushing for five minutes while I’m on my phone!

4. Every time I get a dental cleaning, which is every six months. My dentist gives me the toothbrush so it’s just easier, lmao.

I brush my teeth twice a day for two minutes, once when I wake up before eating and once before bed

Is this a cultural thing? I thought these were hard-and-fast rules tbh

I just replace it when I feel like its function might be about to decline

Most definitely recommend an electric toothbrush bc it does a better job of cleaning your teeth and removing plaque. Plus you're more likely to brush for the full 2 minutes since it shuts off after 2 minutes.
