1. Wow, a day like this is coming. Wow SM is being taken over by another company.

2. And SM will manage groups from survival shows.

3. CJ takes over SM...? MAMA will be SM's party.

4. Can't we see BTS at MAMA anymore?

5. Wow I never Imagined that SM will be taken over by someone.

6. CJ is too monopolistic, this will ruin the entertainment industry

7. SM's Chinese dream will be given wings.

8. Now Big3 is Kakao, CJ, and HYBE.

9. Well, I'm worried about the future of K-pop.

10. CJ will take good care of SM now. Mnet, TVN and award ceremonies.

Source: Everyday Economy via Naver

1. [+595, -17] I guess I'm just glad that a Chinese company didn't acquire them. JYP and YG need to watch out, too. China is on the prowl for Korean entertainment companies.

2. [+473, -92] Looks like SM's idols will be all over CJ shows now, I'm already sick and tired of it...

3. [+323, -35] CJ is producing MAMA so I guess all of the daesangs and important trophies will go to SM. I'm so sick of this. This isn't a good acquisition, and it's a sign that the K-Pop industry is just turning into a dog eat dog system.

4. [+112, -5] Ugh, I'd rather SM just stay SM alone..

5. [+76, -1] And this is why only SM stars were on 'Street Woman Fighter'

6. [+63, -6] We're going to end up like the Japanese music industry at this point. All of the conglomerate companies just buy up everything and end up pushing their own artists here and there with no competition to keep them in check, and the quality will continue to drop. Even now, SM artists are taking over all the shows no matter how boring they are and shows are forced to just keep pulling them along. If Mnet is blatantly on SM's side now... this is quite a dangerous tell for the future of Korean music and dramas. That's the end of Hallyu.

7. [+35, -0] I guess SM idols will be all over tvN then. Added all over varieties and dramas.

8. [+33, -1] As if CJ's influence in the entertainment industry wasn't big enough already.... the big companies are just taking it all

9. [+22, -3] Is that why 'Street Woman Fighter' had three SM artists on the judge panel? ㅋㅋ

10. [+11, -1] The worst acquisition ever! A broadcast company and an entertainment company becoming one? As if it's been that long since we already had the rigging controversy. Can you imagine what will happen with any audition show CJENM produces? SM will win them all~ I guess this is the end for K-Pop ㅋ

1. [+303] Please don't merge the music department... All of the groups are going to lose their concepts. What about SMP?

2. [+275] Can we get CJ points when we buy SM store merchandise then?

3. [+294] And the big companies just get bigger...

4. [+170] Why are people calling this a failure for SM? SM needed investments, CJ needed content. This acquisition is a win-win for both parties.

5. [+53] I don't think this will be the end for SM

6. [+66] Well that's the end of SM

7. [+4] That's a ton of money..

8. [+3] I'm glad they're at least retaining Lee Soo Man

actually I wished kakao would acquire SM for some reasons pls ugh I dont like CJ

I felt the same way even though I'm of the same "dog eat dog system now" thought.

Even though I rag on him constantly, I'm happy Lee Soo Man is staying.
