It's not that surprising though? As harsh as it is, if kpop idols can easily gain fans because of a thing as superficial as looks, then they can lose fans for the same reason too. How many idols can you name that are as talented as Adele or Beyonce or heck ariana grande, Taylor swift and other Western celebs? Hardly a few. 

 

Fame built on superficial things will come and go just as quickly especially in a superficial industry like kpop but if the celebs are truly talented they will have the support regardless of their age. Adele was popular and respected when she was healthy and still is when she lost weight cuz her talent is the main selling point. Most idols sell their personality, visuals, mediocre dancing and singing skills when compared to "actual artists" so don't blame fans for moving on when they find someone better that catches their eye. Also ironic how Korean, Japanese, Chinese fans are known to be more loyal than most international fans that I have come across who change bias and groups on a monthly basis and move on to newer groups. But online they love to pretend how they are morally better than Koreans lol. Hypocrisy at its finest.
