quietly leaving the fandom without insulting anyone is not a problem.

I don't disagree with that, just the reason you mentioned yourself. Not liking a artists because of looks and age is weird and really only seen in kpop. I mean britney/Janet fans Still love them, even with many facial changes.

the xenophobia here 💀 so many non-korean kpop fans also drop their faves when the visuals don't hit like they used to. if you don't offer much else, what could you expect?

i think the kfans are simply more honest about it

You know that is also a superficial thing? It doesn't matter which fandom does it, the fact that this is one the reasons is just stupid.

Obviously. That’s the point I was making, that and people are acting like only Korean people do this and it’s weird. They’re just self aware in a way that many ifans are not. The funny thing is, instead of ifans leaving because their fave looks different, they just get bored with their fave’s face and find a newer face to be obsessed with.

Plus, it’s not really THAT stupid of a reason, because visuals is what kpop groups are selling nowadays. Talent is less important, music is less important, personality is less important, and visuals are the top focus. So if you’re selling visuals, and folks are buying, you’ve gotta maintain the look.

I don't disagree that there is a portion of kpop selling that. But aren't you underselling some artist who are definitely not that? Such as Shinee/BTS/EXO, they have been in the game for a very long time and their music is actually good. So maybe some of the people on twitter are just superficial people who don't need any extra time 🤷🏾‍♂️

Although some kpop bands are created with lesser talents, doesn't mean other bands don't exist who do have talent. For this generation I hear Ateez is very good, however I don't know their personality or if they have any attractive members, but the word of their talent was spread to me and I started listen to their music. That means kpop can be more than some superficial thing, but only if fans and companies take their artist more serious and stop focusing on having a pretty face.
