Wasn't there even controversy about them using iPhones instead of Samsung they officially promote? 

Also as far as I remember Jisoo from insta got the cases in some special pack, so I doubt it isn't part of some promo deal. 

In the end maybe Apple just paid better.

Also Samsung phones aren't what it used to be. Lately it isn't really worth the price tbh. At least for me. Wouldn't pay for iPhone as well though.

Companies are aware that the models they sponsor are using their products solely because they are being paid to do so.  This is how capitalism works.  As for blackpink, the things they are seen using their fans purchase.  That's why companies sponsor them--not for "loyalty."

Netizens should put their sympathy elsewhere other than with a multibillion dollar conglomeration.  I mean.. seriously.

Honestly I've used Samsung for years. I even have s21 rn but glad I only bought basic version in a way bc I've been curious to try iPhone once this phone wears down. I feel like it's only worth to get ultra and maybe still then too expensive even if I can afford it, just not worth

This isn't big deal tho. Most ppl even with sponsor prolly use iPhone.. Idk the norm in Korea since Samsung is Korean but I feel like most idols I see have iPhone. I didny even know BP had contract tbh but it makes me think.. Always seeing bts Samsung commercials I wonder if most /all still uses iPhone hhh

Not surprised seeing the comments. Koreans tend to pride themselves over the fact Samsung is their home country's electronic brand as it is symbol of homegrown success. Their pride and joy that it became well-known globally and put their country on the map. So they feel obligated and have this sense of loyalty to support their local brand. 

However I think this is a non-issue to young people in Korea because Apple is more popular and trendy with the 10s, 20s and 30s age groups. iPhone is considered expensive compared to Samsung in Korea, so it's also a sign of trend and wealth. Rich people, also most celebs and Kpop idols use iPhone. It's usually just the working class, older generation and overly patriotic people who'd get oversensitive whenever they hear other people using iPhone, for example watch this starting @2:51 especially when the girl said she wanted an iPhone but her mom told her "Koreans are supposed to use Samsung".

Apple does not pay them. It's just their preference and I'm not surprised. Everyone in the entertainment industry uses them. All NCT members uses iPhone besides Mark Lee.

BP's contract with Samsung ended over a year ago. I guess the article made it seem like the girls are doing this out of spite, but Jisoo's post was made like 2 days ago..over a year after the contract ended. Lisa is a vivo ambassador, and Jennie's and Rosé's posts are from around 2 months ago. The girls have been using iPhones anyway..

Anyone who sees a problem with this should hold other idols to the same standard, once they promote one product they are never allowed to be seen with another.

me neither. i don't understand the hype around iphone/apple. 
one of my cousins have one and a mac notebook and i tried to use them and was so confused with Apple system. definity is not for me even if i could afforded it. 
besides iphone cameras sucks compared to the ones from some android phones that are as expensive as a the recent iphone
