Not surprised seeing the comments. Koreans tend to pride themselves over the fact Samsung is their home country's electronic brand as it is symbol of homegrown success. Their pride and joy that it became well-known globally and put their country on the map. So they feel obligated and have this sense of loyalty to support their local brand. 

However I think this is a non-issue to young people in Korea because Apple is more popular and trendy with the 10s, 20s and 30s age groups. iPhone is considered expensive compared to Samsung in Korea, so it's also a sign of trend and wealth. Rich people, also most celebs and Kpop idols use iPhone. It's usually just the working class, older generation and overly patriotic people who'd get oversensitive whenever they hear other people using iPhone, for example watch this starting @2:51 especially when the girl said she wanted an iPhone but her mom told her "Koreans are supposed to use Samsung".
