Article: Idol group has been promoting for so long thanks to hype "We've been on 36 music shows" when most groups are doing one week promos

Source: Insight via Instagram

1. [+214] But who are you...

2. [+55] They're going to need to get on a lot more shows than 36 because I still don't know who they are

3. [+9] But who are they

4. [+3] They're going to need to do at least 360 shows then ㅋㅋ

5. [+3] E'Last, do well!!

6. [+1] It's gotta go back to the olden days when groups used to promote for months at a time

7. [+7] If the number of times you were on music shows equaled popularity, then groups like T1419 would be considered popular too. I had to look them up because I didn't know who they were.

8. But who are they???

9. Fighting~~

10. I wish them luck~

You do realise most koreans don't give a shit about kpop right? Especially they don't give a shit about obscure groups like this, there are literally hundreds of kpop groups nobody is gonna care about them all. International fans expect koreans to all be super obsessed with kpop, when really it's seen as something teenagers are super into but then eventually grow out of. Normal adult koreans don't listen to kpop much, they mainly listen to ballads, OSTs, or khiphop. Expecting koreans to know every kpop group is like expecting americans to know every film that comes out of hollywood lol

The comments are literally saying they don't know who the group is lol. At any given time there's probably around less than 10 groups that the korean general public has heard of and knows their songs, the rest of them are popular amongst their fans but the general public doesn't know who they are

The comments are coming from instagram -- not an actual news article. They are probably young people into kpop since it's from an Instagram post but not into like we all are. The knetz comments we see don't make up even 10% of the population.

so? I have never commented on article about topic that doesnt interest me. I guess the "general public" in Korea has a habit of seeking out articles about topics that dont interest them lol.

Who said the topic doesn't interest them? Seeing a news article about a group doing a lot of music shows that you've never heard of is interesting, it makes you wonder why they aren't more well known if they've been promoting so much

i mean when you have like dozens of groups debuting every single week you don't expect people to keep up lol. most of them don't even listen to k-pop nowadays except for the gp-friendly groups. i live in korea and i can vouch you i have never heard people talk about this group until today (no offence to them)

Am i the only one who didn't have a problem w/ sweetberry's post?
They don't question knetz lack of awareness abt E'last.
They're pointing out how unhelpful (not to mention rude) the "but who are they?" "they need to do at least 360 shows thenㅋㅋ "  comments in an article abt them promoting for 10 weeks.
If they really wanted to know who E'last were, they could always look them up on Naver.

you are the only one who understood what I was saying. the comments are clearly mocking the group, if people dont see that I dont know what to tell them.

I don’t think that’s the point the user is trying to make (or at least how I interpreted it). It’s fine not to know, especially if it doesn’t interest you, but it is odd to be proud of it like how some users act. I don’t know what the Kardashian’s are up to but it’s not like that’s a badge of honor.
