Have Itzy become the generic representation of teen crush for 4th gen?

With Aespa dropping Savage I can't help but feel like Itzy are now considered basic compared to the rest of 4th gen.  Don't get me wrong Itzy had some quality bops, but Loco and MITM just don't hit like 4th gen songs should hit.  Its almost like they are chasing the other girls when they actually started the trend.  Basically the other groups (stay C etc) have more freedom to experiment and find their own niche in the teen crush genre.  i hope Itzy find their way back to being innovative and not just girl crush lite.

I don't know apart from Itzy and Aespa, i feel 4th gen ggs is shifting towards the less nosier sound slowly...Stay C, and Weeekly are examples and they are gaining a lot of popularity with each release, if anyone should be a representative of the "teen crush" concept it should be Everglow..they're incredibly underrated despite their high quality masterpiece releases..La Di Da is a legend.

The main issue here is that you're comparing Itzy to Aespa. Yes, they're from two big companies, but the similarities end there. I also don't think Itzy is generic-sounding. While their popularity has gone down considerably compared to debut, it's bound to happen when newer groups start emerging. It always happens to girl groups, and I'm sure the point of interest will soon shift to YG's Baby Monsters in 2022. 

4th gen groups are just starting up, so I'm sure they'll develop something that's unique to them soon. And with members like Ryujin, they'll be fine.

"Twice" and "flop" in the same sentence lmao I never thought I'd see the day. I-fans are the only ones sad about their concept shift since Fancy; their title tracks still top the charts and have only dropped slightly, and their album sales have actually gone up.

ITZY debuted strong with DALLA DALLA then kinda dip with ICY and topped with WANNABE. I thought that's how their singles would be, one super good and one ok but I haven't like anything since WANNABE (and I want to because they are so fierce).

p.s. I did heard ITZY in one of aespa's new songs, it felt weird lol
