Golcha's comeback this time is one of their bests...

After the disappointment that is Ra Pam Pam (Woollim level disappointment, meaning a normal k-pop "wow" moment), Golden Child made a comeback with a repackage titled "DDARA".

The MV looks low-budgeted but it doesn't look that cheap because girl, those visuals look expensive! Though their self-made music videos Singing In The Rain and GAME looks better..

What really impressed me so much is the song. DDARA is sick! It's so damn good! It probably is on top of my list along with Pump It Up and Wannabe. It's a sound that seems familiar to Golcha yet something they haven't done before.

Today was a bloodbath... for boys, if we include girls it'd be a massacre... but IMO, Golden Child and their low-budget MV for DDARA wins October 5 for me (which is not surprising for you but I really expected to like Woodz's better).

PS I love Sungyoon but they should've used this as thumbnail instead:

I'm a bit disappointed in the MV, which as you said looks a bit cheap, but oh well. I'm really enjoying the song.

Am I the only one getting LGBTQ+  vibes from the video & song ? I'm not saying this in a bad way, but it almost feels like they are talking about accepting who you are and 'come out' as your trueself, no matter how hard it might be. I guess it could also work for other topics...

Took me a couple of listens to get used to this new style (which I LOVE Golcha for doing) and now I LOVE IT SO MUCH.

I'm a big fan of BLSSD's songs so was a bit thrown off because I haven't heard him do songs like this. After careful listening though, I did find his trademark bassline and atmospheric synths that I love so much. I can't tell you how much I appreciate Golcha for trying new genres time and time again, and acing them. They're really gutsy too, for picking such a title track. So refreshing in the kpop world though. I honestly like this more than Ra Pam Pam and Ra Pam Pam to me, is great song.

And MY GAWD the visualssssss!!!! Y is my bias but I was also perplexed by the thumbnail. Even if they wanted Y, they could have used many other better screenshots. And I TOTALLY AGREE ABOUT JIBEOM AND BOMIN LOOKING DROPDEAD GORGEOUS. Jibeom's killing me this comeback, I swear.

And don't talk about the bloodbath...

I'm a Goldenness, an Ahgase AND a Unicorn.... Go figure....

this is a really nice positive take 'cause as a nonfan, I thought maybe this group was failing (like you said, low budget mv) and has now resorted to pandering to fan ships for sales/views.

Song's nice though. Woollim's done well keeping them in their lane and not trend chasing the whole noise music genre. And they all look good.

definitely my fave comeback. the song is good and MV too, the focus is solely on the group as I like it. yeah I dont like MVs with stories much.

I think the song's lyrics are pretty general in the sense of "be yourself" "be confident" and I think it also applies to the LGBT.

HOWEVER, the allusion to Singing In The Rain's MV where Bomin ends up seemingly longing for Joochan who is in a relationship and now where he looks pretty intimate with Jibeom and the symbol of the camcorder (another SITR MV symbolism), it is highly possible that it's what they're going for. It can be interpreted in a way that Joochan liked someone else so Bomin found himself a Jibeom.
