What's stronger Physical Sales or Digital Sales?

Both are important but physical sales means you have a fandom to rely on when the public may or may not like your song so id say physical>digital but by very little. Also physical may mean that you can fill out a tour and not only 2,000 concert venue

Kpop agencies want money, so physical or digital themselves don't matter as it's an infinitely small amount of money.

Digital means the public loves your songs===> Public recognition==> CFs, pictorials(if you're appealing enough) and plenty other things

Physical means concerts everywhere ==> Money money

When you have both ( eg. Big Bang, 2NE1 ) you win. Because they're like the only ones who go on variety shows once or twice a year at most, concentrate on their music (except the recent roommate project for Bom and Top acting) and they still pull-in the same money as other groups who go all out, never resting going from this show to that one , and a lot more than 99% of the rest of them (in their respective categories ).

I wish people would understand this and stop these kinda threads the money physical or digital in themselves bring. They don't bring shit.

In this industry... money >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> public exposure.

Ever wonder why SM doesn't promote many 'public friendly' songs? Because they don't need them. They already have consolidated fanbases for nearly all of their groups, and each group can rack up 80k+ sales (this is the minimum). They have members that can rack up CFs. Acting roles. Each group is able to hold their own concerts. Tada. $$$.

Imo digital. Physical sales can only bring you so much like for some groups who lose the fandom power but still rock digital sales. I think digital sales are stronger cuz it will always be there and gets better and better cuz you have the fandom power and the public to back you up.  I mean 2NE1 is an example of that. Their physical sales decreased by a huge amount but their digital sales increases every time even tho their just 6 cents per song.

Edit: lmao at the negging. People here can't take opinions.

So lets say there are 2 groups..

1 that sells 20,000 Albums.. but their digital sales are 2,000,000  and the other sells 80,000 - 100,000 Albums and their digital sales are 1,200,000-1,400,000

physical. no matter how you hate it, almost all the top groups now have a similarity, strong physical sales dbsk, sj, snsd, exo, bb, shinee. I remember when sistar was put into the same tier with snsd (don't remember well) in the top gg ranking 2013, netizens were bitching about it eventhough they have the best digital for gg that year because they have weak fanbase and couldn't sell a concert.

In terms of profitability in general: Concerts >>>>> CFs >>>>>> albums >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> digital

Though it needs to be mentioned that there are exceptions to that rule. For example some acts have such high digital sales that they still make a significant profit from it. Or with CFs, some acts have such a high asking price that they profit from it more than anything else.

This one is the best of both worlds.

Physical and digital sales don't really make much money either way for the artists any way after all the reductions
