According to a September 27 exclusive report by Biz Korea, it has been confirmed that BTS's Jungkook resigned from his position as in-house director of Six6uys Co., Ltd, a company founded by his brother Jeon Jung Hyun. It is speculated that he may have resigned immediately after the controversy over the backdoor advertisement of the clothing brand product created by his brother. HYBE has yet to release a statement in regards to this issue.

According to a certified copy of the corporate register, Jungkook's brother Jeon Jung Hyun founded Six6uys Co., Ltd. in May of 2021. The company is headquartered in Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi-do, and aims at manufacturing clothing, wholesale, retail clothing, accessories, and a real estate rental business.

Jungkook was named the in-house director of the clothing brand 'LAMODECHIEF,' along with Park, Kim, and Yoon, who is believed to be an employee of HYBE. 'LAMODECHIEF' received significant attention as a "brand that Jungkook likes" and was sold to Monster Cube in August.

Then, Six6uys Co., Ltd. launched a clothing brand named 'GRAFFITIONMIND' in early September this year. According to the website, 'GRAFFITIONMIND' is a street fashion brand that "develops various creative fashion through the spirit of rebellion and the identity of 'commoner culture' and 'art.' It is a street brand that presents a young and fresh mood design."

On September 1, when the Graffiti Mind Instagram account opened, Jungkook appeared on a V Live wearing the brand's T-shirt (regular price of 119,000 KRW (~$100.98) on the website). A few days later, on the 10th, he uploaded a selfie wearing the same T-shirt in a different color on Twitter and Weverse.

However, controversy arose over the backdoor advertisement. The backdoor advertisement refers to the practice of undisclosed or 'backdoor' advertising by Korean celebrities, involving the promotion of products without disclosing their partnership or being paid. In the end, it was confirmed that Jungkook resigned as an in-house director on September 14. It is presumed that he felt burdened when some people pointed out that he exposed the product without revealing that he was involved in the clothing company and working as an executive of the company. Biz Hankook stated that they contacted HYBE Corporation in regards to this issue but didn't receive a response.

1. this tabloid is full of assumptions.

2. the resignation is old news (sept 14th...)

3. i personally don't care if celebrities partner with different businesses. but then again i'm not an controlling type of person.

4. anyways he's free to do whatever with his life. moving on~

So people got mad that he wore his brother's clothing line, but didn't say it was his brother's line or that he had ties to it?

Agree

“hey this is my brother’s!!!” would’ve sounded like he was trying to make people feel obligated to buy it

I actualy think it's a shame that he resigned

I though too about why he didn't promote it, but if there is law against or if their contrat don't allow it then i understand.

BUT STILL !

That's stupid. People only know where it comes from cuz fans track the clothes down. He didn't even say or show even brand that I can see. That being said that I don't judge that too much bc idols wear pretty cool clothes that I look for it  sometimes hhh like that jumper is fire ngl. I looked up those brands and I like the clothes. And they're not too expensive compared to a lot of fashion idols will wear is so expensive. Pretty cool clothes good job jungkook brother 👏

So now there is a complaint made to the fair trade commission for false advertising. Fucksake, people have way to much time on their hands to be angry about things like this. The complaint will go nowhere, but in the meantime JK gets dragged through the mud. These are the times I wished BTS would just tell some of these knetz to fuck off.

the person didn't complain about false advertising, but undisclosed advertising.  It wouldn't have been an issue if JK wasn't a director in the company.  There's a reason why brand logos are covered in variety shows and dramas if they're not an official sponsor.

Undisclosed advertisement can't be made into isn't a legal complaint. Because he never mentioned nor incentives people to buy the product. If a fan asked him during those vlives or a reporter asked what are you wearing and mentioned that label, then there would be a claim, because he directly financially benefits from it and didn't disclose this to the buyers. But he did neither, so I really don't see any legal case for the complaint.

Even with him being the Director, he has to right to wear what he wants anywhere. He didn't breach any fair trade regulations. This knetz is just bullshitting.

He doesn't need to disclose the label name because he knows the fangirls will find it out on their own and then spread it all over social media.

It might as well be, but that is not how the law works. I am sure fair-trade community will throw this out, as they have no base for their claim.

Well he obviously felt it was wrong as well otherwise he wouldn't have resigned from the company.

He resigned because of the optics and cause he didn't want to create a scandal. Even though there is no actual scandal here, just an unhappy netizen who wants some publicity.

BTS Jungkook's alleged "backdoor ad" scandal was fabricated by antis?

This whole thing started from a DC Gallery where Jungkook antis strategically fabricated rumors from a month ago. Jungkook has always enjoyed wearing non-luxury street fashion brands, it's not just or twice that brands have sold out because of him. And it's not just clothes but Kombucha too, he never once showed the brand he just drank it and the brand ended up receiving a 'Brand of the Year' daesang because of it. A fabric softener he used also sold out too. Antis knew he was the in-house director for his brother's company so they nitpicked his brand clothing and claimed he was doing "backdoor ads." They have been mass e-mailing reporters about it tooㅋㅋㅋ.

Just antis being antis and trying to create drama out of thin air for no other reason

Now I hope BH will take care of it and sue them
