Oh My Girl just recently won the "National Assembly Culture, Sports and Tourism Chairperson Award" at the 2021 Newsis Hallyu Expo Hallyu Culture Awards for their contribution to leading the Korean wave.

OH MY GIRL said in a speech for winning the 2021 Newsis Hallyu Expo video, which will air on the Newsis YouTube channel from 5 p.m. on the 16th, "Thank you so much to the one and only Miracles that allowed us to receive such a wonderful award and I hope you always take care of our health." "I hope COVID-19 gets better as soon as possible, and the day when we meet you in person, perform, and hold a concert will come soon," they said adding, "As you gave us such a valuable award, we will work harder for the Korean Wave. "I am grateful to those who always strive for the Korean Wave."

Celebrating their sixth anniversary this year, OH MY GIRL is one of the most rising groups recently. In particular, songs released last year and this year, such as "Nonstop," "Dolphin," and "Dun Dun Dance," swept the music charts and secured great popularity. In particular, "Nonstop" and "Dolphin" are the longest girl group songs released since 2014 that have stayed on the music charts for the longest time. OH MY GIRL has grown step by step since their debut in 2015. Until now, it was a group that emphasized innocence. It was rediscovered on Mnet's "Queendom," a cable music channel that ended in October 2019. In this program, where girl groups compete with new concepts every time, they showed various concepts and became the "main characters of the twist." Since then, they have been called the "concept fairy."

OH MY GIRL made his official debut in Japan in January 2019 after signing a management contract with Japanese record label Sony Music. With their debut album, OH MY GIRL gained momentum by topping the Oricon daily album chart. It is said to be the most successful girl group in Japan after COVID-19. It is a team that is drawing attention not only in popularity but also in music. In February this year, the group's representative song "Dolphin" was nominated for the best pop song category along with BTS "Dynamite" and IU's "eight" at the 18th Korea Popular Music Awards.

In addition, Oh My Girl was highlighted at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. This is because the "Dun Dun Dance" was played in various games, including the Korea-Japan match in women's volleyball. The upbeat rhythm of this song evoked the excitement of the tense matches. At the Tokyo Olympics, it is known that athletes ask for background music selection in the stadium, or the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Organizing Committee or federations of each event. This is the moment to confirm that OH MY GIRL's status has changed. In the first half of this year, Oh My Girl's agency WM Entertainment grew in size. The company was acquired by RBW, which includes MAMAMOO, and is expanding its scale to enter the world.

Meanwhile, the Newsis Hallyu Expo, which started in 2019, is a place to confirm the status of Korean culture and encourage the growth of related industries. It was hosted with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Korea Communications Commission, and the Seoul Tourism Foundation. This year's theme is "Wear Hallyu Digital. We discussed the success strategy and branding plan of the Seoul beauty industry and examined the competitiveness of K-beauty.
