i’ve seen that dress somewhere before, it’s so plain.. it’s tragic, especially for a met gala BUT there’s literally so many horrible outfits this year and no one is giving anything anyways. still, super safe on her and her team.

edit: nvm the people are definitely picking up to more extravagant looks so she’s definitely underdressed. she should’ve appeared earlier, i don’t think she has arrived yet.

It was YSL that chose that outfit for her. She already was photographed in it. I think they went with the safest outfit since she's an idol and they didn't want her in trouble.

I swear, idols get screwed constantly. The girl could've made a statement (nothing too controversial cause she is representing South Korea too). But, The Met gala where you go big. She's gorgeous but she could've turned heads.

I think the only reason YSL and Anna Wintour invited her to Met Gala is because she would have turned heads regardless since Blackpink is the second biggest kpop group in America. But I agree. I also expected something plain.

CL is also there in a big dress. I think Alexander Wang dressed her.

YSL has dressed Rose very modest/plain for their ad campaigns while keeping her Blackpink style aka a mini dress.

tbh, couldn't she still go pretty grand? rose does suit modest dresses very well, but it's the met gala! i was hoping for a gemma chan moment and the dress is still pretty modest minus the deep clevage!

It's YSL. She was only invited because she's the most recognizable brand ambassador with YSL. Plus again it's YSL. I mean I agree with all of you.

YSL is not really grand but more chic and modest with their looks lately.

Yeah I wish people would understand that the designers choose what their brand ambassadors wear. It's all on the brand. For example, Chanel chose what Kristen Stewart was going to wear. 

The brand ambassadors that are chosen to attend are picked by the brand. GD and Jennie are the brand ambassadors to Chanel but they aren't as popular as Kristen Stewart. I've seen Blinks wonder why Jennie wasn't invited. Kristen was invited by Anna Wintour and Chanel to represent the brand and she has a movie coming out.
