"We talked about this among ourselves a lot too"

"Since we are older and have more seniority"

"I hope that they don't come" (T/N: he's referring to juniors coming to their waiting room and do formal greetings, giving their albums, etc.)

"I hope that they don't come to greet us"

"This, this greeting culture..."

"They can just greet us casually and greet us brightly... Must they come find us and greet us like that... I kind of want to change this culture!!"

"Now that we became sunbaes... we will gradually change it,

"Even going to the washroom is a pain.."

"If we're standing in the hallway, they all greet us...."

"We know that they are all working hard~"

"We know that they have dreams and passions so even if they don't come greet us like that, we are aware that they are working hard"

"If there are any hoobaes watching this right now, you can just speak informally to me~"

"You can even just wave your hand and say "oh, Peni-yah, hi?.?""

"You can call us "Peni-yah, Donggeun-ah" from today too~"

original post: here

1. Peu-ha! (T/N: "Peniel-hi in Korean", apparently it's also gaming jargon? Most of the comments are commenting Peu-ha and are laughing about it)

2. Peni-yah hello🙋‍♂️

3. They are such cool sunbaes. Good to see ㅎㅎ

4. There are celebrities who get sulky when others don't come to greet them. These kids are quite fine

5. But there are so many celebrities who are salty because because don't greet them on broadcast

6. Peu hello!

7. I don't think that hoobaes can comfortably drop their honorifics but I do think that they can still be friends without going out of their way to do the formal greetings

8. BTOB is always so kind and funㅋㅋ they are really likable

9. Agree, this is just tiring for both sides

10. Just reading a few comments here makes me realize how we will never be able to get rid of our seniority system ㅎ

11. Even if I was a sunbae, this would make be freaking uncomfortableㅋㅋ

12. Peniel is handsome

theyre so sexy for this

Peniel himself is also American so he probably always found the whole greeting culture uncomfortable, and now that he's a senior in the industry he can comfortably call it out

And if the juniors do this to them, will the juniors be safe from witch hunting bc they don't great the seniors? Despite the seniors they "disrespect" are cool with it?

This is so refreshing. Glad to see some seniors who are humble and doesn't use their seniority as an authority

I remember Hyoyeon got criticized because she called out her juniors

https://pannative.blogspot.com/2017/08/what-hyoyeon-did-wrong.html?m=1

Causing a big mess where Sones back then which was a big fandom went all detective trying to find juniors who made a cb at the same time as SNSD. Causing some groups like Gfriend and Weki Meki getting massive witchunts by them. Sometimes seniors need to be humble instead of acting better, high, mighty and dictate what should be done or not. Just because you're older and a senior doesn't mean you're better. The juniors who didn't greet probably because they feel shy, intimidated or forgot/busy to do so, it doesn't always mean they're rude, arrogant and impolite.

the problem is that knetz will cancel the juniors if they dont do that...maybe nowadays even twitter fans. not because they care, but because they actively look for reasons to cancel someone.
