The rather outrageous changes in her behavior and physical appearance over the past few years just scream substance abuse. She's been pinging my user radar for a while now (as has her boyfriend.) The health problems she's been experiencing could easily be the result of unnatural changes in her body chemistry, as these problems were unheard of until more recently.
