Girls Planet 999 voting will be half Korean/half international votes + nationalities of the final group are not fixed

Hopefully there’s no more than 5 Korean girls in the final lineup. Not really interested in 7K 1J 1C tbh. Even 6K is pushing it

The whole point is to have a diverse team

But for every Korean girl, there’s 2 non-Korean girls, so 33K to 66NK. I trust the lineup will be equal enough IF Mnet doesn’t mess with the results

Okay but what I don’t understand is why change the rules after the show has started? They spent so much time and energy promoting the show to be a certain way, and then pretty much pulled the carpet out from under all the viewers and were like JK, all of that is out the window and the rules are changing for no reason yet again. It just doesn’t seem smart from a marketing POV.

The only reason I can think of as to why they would do this is because they’re receiving some favours from some sponsors or companies behind the scenes to favour certain girls, and their predetermined lineup doesn’t fit with the 3:3:3 concept. Which means yet again, they’re doing some shady shit.

Nah. It's only natural that the Korean gravitates toward fellow Koreans and Korean vote has heaviest weight. Of course, they will be more inter voters than Korean ones. If they are 1m Korean voters and 3 inter voters, each inter vote will have 1/3 point of each of Korean one. If the Korean is not forced to vote foreign contestants, the Korean will dominate the line-up, likely, 4 or 5 out of 9 will be Korean.

Don't you know China has 10x greater population to Japan? If each of their votes counted the same, it will surely be more Chinese contestants in the final line-up.

Did it? Has the rule changed? What was the previous rule? How did you know what that un-disclosed rule was?

I said this on another earlier post but I'm going to ask it again: If they plan on promoting in China, why make it so the majority of members can't? Koreans still can't promote in China. So Mnet would be super dumb to have of the members be Korean.

Was there some rules officially revealed though? All I saw was quesses from fans and rumors.

I mean that was expected. It's a Korean show and they're gonna be promoted as a kpop group so it wouldn't make sense that only 3 members are Koreans.

PD48 also had the rumor of 6 Koreans and 6 Japanese and at the end it ended up being a 9:3 ratio.

Y’all are surprised a Korean show is gonna have more Koreans in the group ?🧍🏾

But it wasn't supposed to be "just" a Korean show. It's being shown internationally in Japan and China, so even though its produced by CJ, its still has international sponsors like iQiYi that expect there will be international members. It reminds me how CJ pulled the bait and switch with Produce 48 where it seemed at first at least international votes would be counted since half the contestants were from Japan (and had fanbases) and it was basically a co-production with the AKB48 in all but name. Then...nope. Only Koreans allowed to vote. And even then they rigged in who they wanted (and conveniently had just 3 Japanese members - the same magic number the #1 Asian GG - Twice - has)

Now - we're going to have 99 trainees. A full 2/3 of them will be Japanese or Chinese. They are clearly attempting/want a tri-national girl group. That's the whole point of the show. That's how it was advertised. So maybe Chinese or Japanese votes be 1/3 a piece as well? Nope. Half will be Korean. At least so we're told (who knows what they're really do). And we've already seen the evil editing. And we know CJ/Mnet have CHEATED (to the point of people being put in jail) before to get the outcome/grouping they want.

As much as I love Yujin and want to see her succeed now that Cube has washed their hands of CLC, this show is just more Mnet farce.

Re: the evil editing. I'm not seeing that much of that yet except the whole Fu Yaning vs Yujin thing (and it wasn't really evil editing because those were her words), but mnet is very clearly showing their preferences. Chinese trainees are barely shown so far except for Fu Yaning (again, due to the "beef" with Yujin), Su Ruiqi, and Cai Bing (even Roada Xu that's pretty popular was completely skipped in today's episode) and for Japanese trainees they're mostly highlighting 2-3 (Yurina, Hikaru, Shana and maybe Mashiro?). So I expect the line up being like 5 koreans, 2 japanese and 2 chinese. Basically the same ratio than Twice: 5 Koreans and 4 non Koreans. No way they're gonna be 3:3:3.

Oh, yeah. I don't know the final line-up but I do think the final ratio has already been set in stone (even if Mnet claims this show is not rigged). No way they have an equal or lesser number of Korean members than the Japanese/Chinese. Just like with Produce 48, I thought going in (once the whole "only Korean vote counts" was announced) that there would only be 3 Japanese members (same as Twice) and lo and behold there was. Even as the Japanese trainees started making inroads among the Korean public (to the point where the Japanese trainees dominated the pre-finale episode vote) the end result was just 3.

Yeah, it's a kpop group after all and they'll be mostly promoting in Korea (and ocassionally in Japan/China) so I doubt they have more than 4 non korean members. Like I said, I bet a 5:2:2 ratio which it's the closest to a 50-50 Korean/Non Korean ratio.
