Is Valve's Steam Deck the Switch Pro We've Been Waiting For?

Short answer no
Long answer still no

90% of people who buy the switch don't buy it to play Witcher 3, the latest BR or the newest hyped action game they buy it to play Nintendo exclusives such as the latest zelda game, the latest mario game, the latest pokemon etc. If the valve deck doesn't have BOTW 2, the next Mario game or the newest Pokemon game then people who buy the switch won't care as it isn't a replacement way to play the games they want.

I was saving to buy a Switch Pro, but I'm gonna get a Valve instead. I just love that the Pro had minimal updates and this thing comes in in like "lol, bye bitch".

it's not even marketed or named the pro though 😭 it's just a new screen and i don't know why people are hating on it so much when nintendo has been doing this since their first handheld. ds > ds lite > dsi > dsi xl / 3ds > 3ds xl > new nintendo 3ds + xl

but i'm 50/50. it is in terms of specs on portability, but in terms of games? people buy nintendo consoles/handhelds for their exclusives and first-parties. i read that you could play from your pc and you could be running a nintendo switch emulator or something, but some of nintendo's biggest games right now require online.
