K-Pop Songs That Were Released At The Wrong Time

Destiny - Lovelyz: Spring 2016

The song was overshadowed by Twice - CHEER UP that came out at the same time. It would have had a better impact if released in fall or winter.

Twice- TT : 23 Fall 2016

Even thought the song is a major success, it was also overshadowed by Twice - Cheer Up released a few months earlier. It prevented the song from getting a Daesang. If the song was released a little bit later, it would have swiped all the awards.

Black Pink - Playing With Fire: Fall 2016

Released only 1 week after Twice - TT, the song didn't get the chance to hit the number 1 spot on major korean charts even tho it is the best BP song to date.

Any other songs that comes to mind?

pretty much sandwiched in between ioi's debut (literally so hype despite dream girls being lackluster), twice's signal released on the same day, then seventeen's don't wanna cry released a week later

did decent on the charts, but kokobop, red flavor, and wanna one's energetic especially had monster longevity despite being released two or three months prior lmao

idk if there's necessarily a "right" time for it, since the actual concept isn't seasonal, but

it was a big conceptual/sonic change for them and had to contend with chart toppers like ailee, taeyeon, bts, twice, crush...i think the somewhat lengthy gap between it and navillera + the annoying "fans" who would boycott any departure from their power innocent image did a number on fingertip's success
