Ex-member Wu Yifan who promoted under Kris in group EXO is clarifying his sexual assault allegations. 

 

On the 19th, WYF posted on his Weibo, "I didn't respond because I didn't want to interfere with the legal process, I didn't know that my silence would give the impetus for people to spread rumors," he wrote, "I can't stand it any longer."

 

Earlier, articles circulated on Weibo claiming "WYF requested meetings under the pretext of a casting interview or fan meetings, and then sexually assaulted [his victims]." More than seven victims shared their statements.

 

Author A claimed that WYF had sex with minors after making them drink alcohol, and paid 500,000 yuan (about 88 million won) in return.

 

In addition, A claimed in an interview with an overseas media that "one of the victims had an abortion, Wu Yipan has a sexually transmitted disease, and does not use contraception during sex."

 

After that, WYF announced legal actions and delivered his position directly.

 

Regarding A, WYF said, "I met her only once at a meeting with my friends on December 5th of last year, and at that time, we never shared a drink together nor did I get her phone number."

 

"I want to be clear that I've never chosen any women to rape them," he said. "If I did that, I would go to jail on my own. I will take legal responsibility for everything I said."

Is he still a Canadian citizen? Assuming he still is, and assuming they give him the maximum penalty, I could see him trying to get back there. They won’t send him back to be executed. But that’s assuming he can leave, and if Canada lets him in. 
 

Otherwise, in terms of repercussions? I could see some shady dealings to avoid the ultimate penalty. But he won’t go unpunished if he’s found guilty, he’s too high profile. That, too, might save him from the maximum penalty.

I was talking with a moot of mine who has the "knowledge" of these things and apparently china doesn't allow double citizenship so either he hasn't given up his canadian citizenship or he's dead, literally. I think it's the first option, so he will most likely run to canada.

The thing about sex crimes in western jurisprudence is that unless you’ve raped someone, or multiple people, murdered them and eaten them — you’re generally not executed for them. You just go to prison — and assuming that it looks like he’ll face legal repercussions, or arrest, he would be fucking foolish not to leave China and get as far away from it as possible. 
 

If he’s a Canadian national, that’s the best way to escape the prospect of death.

Is that saying that he shouldn’t have repercussions if he gets out? No. But as a strict hypothetical, it’s his best bet.

Currently things aren't going well for his side as media already blacklisting him (hush hush operation but leaked), but I hope people would focus more on supporting victims. Also, death penalty is way too lenient for rapist.

Lbr there is no way he is getting the death penalty, especially since he holds a Canadian citizenship and I doubt the Chinese government want this to blow bigger than it already is because of "face". The most optimistic will be that he gets jailed but realistically speaking he's probably going to piss off to Canada quietly.

Okay wise one, what should the penalty for rapists be then? A slap on the wrist? A handful years of prison time? A close family member/friend does the world a favor and commits murder? A death sentence would encourage some to do what you stated and it also would give many a bigger punishment to dissuade them

There have been many studies and professionals who've discovered that the death penalty given to rapists aka same sentence given for murders etc only cause rapists to kill their victims in order not to be caught, as they know that their alive victims could possibly identify them and they want to avoid that. This is a proven fact. The other user was right. There's psychology behind the claim.

Same with chemical castration. Castrated rapists are more likely to murder their next victims, as they cannot get the same thrill anymore so they escalate.

In a perfect world, the death penalty for rapes would dissuade others from committing such a crime, but people are sick and twisted.

i think death penalty is too good for rapists and pedo. they will never suffer the same pain as their victims bc if i am not mistaken it is a painless death just like euthanasia.

To me it would be electric chair and endless torture but since that is also controversial i never understood why sex criminals are not treated as mentally ill and they end up FOREVER locked in mental hospitals FAR AWAY FROM SOCIETY (using that white straightjackets and constantly getting injections. Well i dont if they still do that in the mental hospitals or if it a thing for horror movies but either way those deserve to be treated like this)
