What will happen to JYP if the contract renewal with TWICE is not possible?

Whatever it takes, JYP has to grab onto TWICE. There are not too many idols that have six years of experience and have album sales, digital streamings, and music videos all in the top ranking. But all three for TWICE are way on top.

If JYP loses TWICE, that leaves 2PM, DAY6, Stray Kids, and ITZY. Wouldn’t it be hard for JYP to be maintained with just these four groups? Also, if DAY6, who has a similar debut year with TWICE, decides not to renew. then isn’t the situation pretty serious?

For now, JYP should hold onto TWICE. Even if some members decide to leave, they should maintain the team. cr

They intentionally didn’t show favoritism towards any one member, and implemented equality within the entire group. But I think some members could have come out with solos….

Please do not attack me. It is not my article, it is the netizens' comments. 

 

As much as it hurts my poor soul that my ult group's contracts ending before I am able to attend concerts / fanmeetings, I am not to be delusional. Though I cannot confirm if TWICE will either give in to the 7 year curse or decide to extend their careers, my one wish is that JYPE will let the girls rest for once, (no pun intended) and allow new doors to open for them, such as solo careers / acting. And when their time is up, all I wish for them is that they follow their own path, not to be pressured by possessive fans. My heart will shatter into pieces when the time comes, and I am only a 13 year old, so don't be surprised if it takes me a while to recover from my sorrow.

 

I just want to say I wish TWICE's (and your bias group(s)) prosperity and longevity, and you can PM me if you ever feel heartbroken about disbandment. I do not bite.

Anyway I hope Twice's renewal goes well, I think they will have a lot of power to gain favorable terms from JYP if they want to have solo or subunit activities

I am 13, an 08' liner but lets just say my mom has her restrictions. I did not tell her I made an account here b/c she doesn't like me having accounts on so many platforms. And yes, I do hope for the best in TWICE's 7 year renewal.

There a rumor the reason why jyp want to debut a new gg next year is because there is no certainty that all twice member will renew the contract, maybe some ...but if I were the Japanese line member, i GTFO from Korea and make hella bank money at japan... look at all izone trio and even Kara member make a lot ...i mean a lot! Make a lot of Money as solo celeb at Japan. Even if they all renew , the contract probably around 3 years , 1 or 2 groups promotion the rest is solo activity....look at RV .....if some renew and some don't...it will still be like I mention before 1 or 2 group comebacks then solo act for each member.

There's no guarantee that they'll be as popular in japan though.

Anyway, is hard to tell with Twice bc on one hand is not hard to imagine they want to rest for a while, on the other compared to other groups they haven't had opportunities to test the water and see if they can support a solo career which is jyp fault, they probably will renew with solo promotion in the new contract

Yukika is Japanese and she's a solo kpop artist. Her main genre is city pop.

While I do hope most of the girls renew their contracts, I also hope JYPE will no longer overwork them and let them have solo promotions. I am an OT9 stan so it will be very hard for me when the time does come, but I hope they renew.

When I was just a lurker on this website, apparently 13 year olds used to join this website in like 2014 or 2015, now I feel like the youngest user on here 

 

 

 

and yeah, I do not think the 4th gen will be able to top this era. Twice, blackpink, red velvet, etc. really give the k-pop industry its appeal.

JYPent has surprise me a lot when they said to GOT7 "all members or none". In the past, even when the group decided to not continue, JYPent has acepted to sign with some members - Miss A: Fei and Suzy resigned, WG: Yubin and Lim resigned, 2AM: Jo Kwon resigned.

I think it's possible for Twice to continue as a group even if not all the members renew their contracts, but JYPent can play the same card as with GOT7: "all or none" what would be a hard decision for the girls: the group or solos?

They wouldn't have to go solo if they stayed with Twice. Unless the entire group mutually decides to disband, it would be highly foolish of them to leave a sure thing, even if it's trending downward, to go chasing solo fame in Japan, because there's no guarantee they will find it. Frankly, none of the Japanese members have the sort of overall appeal one expects from a solo artist. Momo could be the world's best dancer and it would only get her so far.

First of all it hasn't even been 7 years yet... they debuted October 20, 2015.

 

They definitely still use a lot of backtrack in live performances. I compared their previous performances (2015) to their new ones and they seemed way more confident there before they got a lot of backlash for that one mr removed (cheer up / TT).

For a 13 years old, you sound way mature to be one especially the way you write and post. Or maybe 13 years old these days are different.

haha yes I am 13 but I'm not like the other girls

 

I dubbed myself "Nation's Lurker" because I have 50 OH thread tabs open from years ago and I am lurking on here almost 24/7. (check out one of my recent threads in my profile) I also prefer quality over quantity so yes, I do spend some time writing my posts. I am also one of the non - delulu stan here (I used to be kind of delulu).
