Fan question: "What's your favorite bts song?
Ed: “I’d say my favorite BTS song is their new song, Permission to Dance.”

everything before was fans speculating and bighit did not want to confirm anything about the new release

this isn't the first time we've been lowkey spoiled about something with bts. it's all a marketing strategy at the end of the day. gets everyone hype

nonetheless it's still hilarious ed is part of the "spoilers" XD lol

so i guess this confirms he worked on this song specifically. i was thinking he might do another bside on their korean album. tho working on a single is more spotlight

I think it's probably largely to do with the fact that most artists tend to not have this culture of extreme secrecy/hype building around their new releases so they probably don't get why this is such a big deal in kpop

nah most western artist are very aware of the kpop strategy by now. also anyone working with them know too.

this isn't unintentional in my opinion haha

also in general western pop artist like to keep some things a secret too. they like surprising their fans all the time

idk if it was calculated or not but I'd err on the side of not

just seems like a really weird tactic imo but maybe you're right

OT: this is a good point XD

"I doubt that Ed is doing things without BHM knowing. There were dozens of articles in the East and West when he dropped that spoiler on MRL. He’s in the middle of promoting his own new music. This is good for BTS to stay in the conversation and get some promo too!" (cto)

following bts/bighit long enough while they've been promoting in the west, will notice almost everything is calculated and approved by bighit first. e.g. even interview questions.^^

uh? it was already known that BTS next song would be called permission to dance, it's not really a spoiler.

i would say it's more part of the promotion srategy for BTS physical single release (which will include permission to dance) 🤔

i highly doubt that he's that amateur to spoil something like this, it's all staged probably

It's staged, like it's so obvious it hurt lol

I'm actually pretty amazed that some people think he did it without BH consent. (Most fan in the replies were joking around)

And this kind is nothing new in western media, like people come, what ????? (Or in misuderstood some comments ?)
